Great music, great design, great beverages—but a questionable restaurant selection. We paid $20+ for a small, oversalted, and dry carbonara plate, which was so mediocre and disappointing. We expected this premium food court to deliver authentic, high-quality pasta for that price. Instead, we got thick, unchewable noodles with a few chunks of dry ham, a bit of sticky parmesan sauce, and just salt and pepper.
I can only imagine an Italian fella having a heart attack after trying this dish.
Other menu items were in a similar price range and, honestly, didn’t look exciting. That’s why we decided to stick to a simple, deprived-of-risky-extravagance option.
The seats and tables were comfortable, and we enjoyed the terrasse. But aside from the ambiance, the service was rude. A sighing waitress came to pick up our trays without asking if we were done. She loudly tossed things onto the side tables, making us feel uncomfortable.
Hot drinks are served without lids, so good luck squeezing through the crowd to find a cover without spilling your drink on yourself—or someone else.
Oh, and they don’t accept cash, citing some stupid accounting excuse.
Overall: A fancy-looking fast food court that gives the illusion of high-end service but truly doesn’t give a F about its main revenue...
Read moreAs a food blogger, I've had my fair share of dining experiences, but nothing quite compares to the gastronomic adventure I recently embarked upon at Le Fou Fou, Montreal's newest and most exciting food hall. I was incredibly excited to visit Royalmount upon its opening, but what I could not have expected was the stunning food hall inside the mall's interior. The space is beautifully designed, striking a perfect balance between elegance and comfort – aspects difficult to find in your typical food court. The tech aspect of each kiosk is exceptionally modern, making each vendor experience quick and efficient without sacrificing quality or taste. The food hall's stellar lineup of chefs such as Moishe's Lenny Lighter and James Beard Award-Winner Tony Messina brings high quality food to the typical mall-goer, making this food hall my favorite Montreal hub to date. I am so excited to go back and experience more of their culinary offerings, and I cannot wait to bring my friends along and introduce them to this new food venture. What an amazing spot...
Read moreThis place is amazing. I came here with my friends and it is an entirely different experience than one would expect of a traditional “food hall” or mall food court. It is open, not loud or stuffy, and smartly designed. The outdoor patio also has awesome views and is a great place to have drinks with friends. When I was there they had a live DJ as well, and it was a really fun environment. Meanwhile, the food is the real reason to go. The vendors are all amazing and local Montreal names, and there is no compromise in quality from their flagship locations. Eva’s is amazing for brunch, and my friends and I all split different dishes from the different offerings because we couldn’t just choose one. Tacos, pizza, samosas, ceviche, and every other type of food is on hand in very high quality (and reasonably priced as well). It also comes super quickly and you can order from your phone. The staff is very kind and personable, and quick to make it right if any issues arise. A great experience - I wholeheartedly recommend going to...
