We ordered the Haddock fish and chips. We went there with two groups. The first group we had haddock fish and chips and the 4pc chicken strips. The food prepared nicely and the lady serving us seemed pleasant enough. Then my daughters asked to try different ice cream flavours, but i had a feeling she was annoyed (probably because my kids couldn't make up their minds and she had food cooking?) But we enjoyed our food...so I told our second group to join us. I left to pick up my second group and came back, and the diner had another few customers. At that point, my son has ordered two more haddock fish and chips and one four pc chicken strips. I was shocked that the fish was over fried. But what disappointed more than the food was - we were asked to give up our chairs for a set of customers that just came in. We had a group of 9. yes, 6 of us were either done eating or just finishing up. But we ordered more food... and before they can start to eat, we were asked to give up our seats for new customers.. does that mean we are nothing? We spent over $100 at a diner.. and treated like trash because we were here for awhile? Yes we had to move the chairs from another table.. but does that mean its right of the diner to ask us to give up our chairs for a set of new customers? Geez i was shocked. Mad. Very disappointed. This review of one star is only because my first experience with the food was good.. but i can see now once they have your money, you mean nothing to them and when there is too many patrons, they get overwhelmed and provide horrible service. Not a kind woman at all, it is so sad that the workers (probably their first jobs as well) would have to work for someone like this who they are probably afraid of. Obviously does not care about her business or other people at all
edit: Wow, where can I start. I wish I had read the reviews before ever stopping here or giving this business a penny. Upon reading the reviews there are multiple claims over the years that the older lady (owner) is treating customers of colour poorly. Not surprised as everyone seems to be treated as an inconvenience in this resteraunt. I was also not surprised to see that in her replies to every negative review, she blames everyone other than herself- including customers. Saying that the customers were the rude ones in situations they have left negative reviews about is NOT THE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. Not to mention the negative way the staff is spoken about in these replies. Witnessed first hand hostility from owner to young staff, probably why customers and staff alike are all miserable in this establishment. Rude staff (aside from teenagers trying their best) and worst of all- ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. Visiting Cindy Lou's alone was bad enough for me to leave this review- which originally was just going to be about the food and the attitude. Read moreCindy Lou Who? I would not go to this place if I were in Lionshead again. First off, the service was terrible. Every employee there looks miserable and did not treat us with a good welcoming energy. Secondly, their food was awful. We all got fish and fries. The fries had a terrible flavour and were fried way too long. I took them back and the employees told me that's how they are, that's what the oil does to them. They were nice enough to get me another, better but still not good enough batch. My sister also took back large fries that had the same issue and they told her that the manager wasn't in so they didn't change the oil. So first they tried to make me feel bad for returning my fries but then they told my sister the truth. They said their kitchen was busy so they wouldn't be able to make us another batch so we got a refund instead. Also, some of my fries were stuck together, like 5 pieces, and so I'm pretty sure they throw in frozen fries. The atmosphere and food and wait time were just not worth it. #KitchenNightmares #YouNeedGordonRamsay
