Unfortunately I have to write a sad review to add to the others below. We went to Bin several times after it opened and it was pretty decent. We.decided.on going there tonight again, as it has been a couple of years and were craving a good burger. As it was happy hour, The experience.started with me ordering a drink and my partner ordering a simple glass of ice water. A little while later the waitress informed me that they were out of the lavender for the drink and said they could replace it with something else. I said.ok., but no water yet for my partner. Then 10 mins later she brings my drink but leaves the water on the bar which we could see from our table. Then 5 mins after that he gets his water and we order burgers from the regular menu Because we are.told.the happy hour ones don't come with sides. We each order the heritage , mine with upgraded to truffle fries (extra ) and salad and his with just salad. and paid 3 extra each for a topping . The food finally arrives and both of us are shocked at what is out in front of us. Our salads were warm and totally wilted and the lettuce on my burger was wilted all.arounf the edges and tiny and the tomato was mushy and a tiny slice of onion. The burgers were both very overcooked and the buns were pathetic. There was barely Any Sauce on the bun and the whole burger seemed to have been reheated and dried out or the entire plate was sitting under heat lamps forever it was hard to tell. The fries were embarrassing . Mushy and flavourless and definitely no truffle anything . The server never came by to ask how the food was and we were both so hungry we choked it down and vowed never to return. Frankly seemed like no one cared at all about their job or what and how they served their patrons. Save yourself the money and go to AW. At least there you know what you'll get for the money, which is at least a decently done burger And fries. Should have gone to cactus club to spend our money there instead, they...
Read moreIt was our first time at this burger place. My partner is gluten free so we decided together to have two different gluten free options so we could try them both.
We will start on service. It was ok but really didn't feel taken care of and we were rushed to finish our meal and leave as there was a waiting list. Server actually gave us a time we had to leave by. Not cool as we made a reservation to ensure we had the time to enjoy our date night. Once our food was served noone came to check on us to ask how the food was, nor if we needed a top up on our drinks. Thumbs down on the service
We were both very excited to try the burgers. I mean they sounded great on the menu. The ingredients for each burger looked absolutely delightful. Choices that could satisfy any burger lovers taste. I choose the bison burger with a gluten free bun, (as we were going to share so we could try both burgers.) My date choice the Italian chicken on the lettuce stacker. Both were ok at best. The bison burger was a small portion with a price of white cheese on it, lettuce and I slice of tomato. The sauce was under the burger patty and had a good spicy flavour. Gluten free bun was dry, (would not order it again.) The Italian chicken that came on the lettuce stack... The stack consisted of two pieces of romain lettuce with on basil leaf on top. Once again a small portion of protein. The bruschetta topping was great flavor but that was the highlight. The bacon was way over cooked, couldn't cut it and had to eat with her fingers. Extra crispy fried were spot on!!
Both dishes were not garnished and overall presentation was sloppy and not inviting. We all eat with our eyes as well as our mouths. The disappointment started before we even tasted our burger choices.
Overall a very disappointing first visit to Bin 4 Burger! Inferior service, average at best food, and rushed out the door. Based on our experience I would...
Read moreTonight was my first visit to Bin 4 Burger Lounge. I pre ordered my food for pickup. I was just around the corner and asked if I was allowed to come in for a pint of beer while I waited. I was definitely welcome to have a seat only if I had my provincial issued Covid card. Although I applied for it last week I did not have not received it yet but luckily enough I do carry my card showing that I have been double shot vaccinated. That was all the proof they needed along with a government-issued picture ID. That is where I sat back and enjoyed a $5 pint of beer and enjoyed the company of the most amazing server named Becca. I did not know it was to the day the one year anniversary of the establishment here in Nanaimo. I was just appointed that there was no clowns or pinatas LOL however Becca was kind enough to buy me a one-year anniversary pint! First thing I did as I arrived home was to bite into their delicious burger that I bought with cheddar bacon and mushrooms on it alongside their french fries which I dipped in gravy and a side of bacon aioli. Truly magical!!! I will definitely be coming back to share a laugh and a smile with whomever is working while I sip on a pint and watch the Blue Jays hopefully make the playoffs. Well done Bin 4- Here is a Cheers to many...
