Disgusting treatment from this restaurant today. We had a bad meal experience a few weeks prior to today's visit and instead of getting the manager the waitress went and got 2 punch cards and stamped them all the way through stating "if they knew I did this they would probably fire me" and said the manager was busy and the kitchen was understaffed which happens. We still tipped her $20 because she was running her butt off and lack of staff is a management problem not a server problem so to take it out on her by not tipping would be ignorant and we would never do that. I called the owner and explained what happened and that the meal was cold and some was burned and he said he would send me coupon's to replace the meals which were about $50. The coupon...single coupon for $25 arrived in the mail which I thought was really cheap on their part because both of our breakfasts were affected. We have been to Ricky's many many times before with no problem ever and we tip really well. So we went for breakfast today and presented the cards that the server gave us that she punched all the spaces (which equals about $11 per person) and the manager who came over accused us of punching the cards ourselves and said they looked like they were punched all on the same day. I said that they were and explained what happened. She (the manager) was beyond condescending and really rude and still accused us of doing it and that was enough I got up and went to the door of the kitchen and asked to speak to the owner who came out and talked to me. It is clear why this establishment has zero customer service skills from their manager after meeting the owner. The waitress that had punched the cards that day was working this morning and in front of the manager and the owner I said "she is the one that punched the cards" and the owner turned to her and said "did you punch these cards" and she said "yes I did". I told the manager that she owed me an apology and her apology was as condescending as her accusation earlier. At least it was sorted out and we proved that we did not go home...manufacture a stamp just like they use at Ricky's...and then try to scam $22 worth of breakfast. (insert eye roll here) We will never be back after receiving such disgusting treatment. Oh and by the way we tipped our waitress $15 today because none of this was her fault she is actually a...
Read moreWe stopped in this afternoon for a late brunch on the way home from camping. I ordered the classic double egger with toast. (Two eggs, shredded hashbrowns, and toast) along with tea with milk. My husband ordered the same thing but with pancakes instead of toast. He specified (two eggs over easy, shredded hashbrowns and the three pancakes) along with cranberry juice, no ice and water. The waitress took the order and left. A while later, she returned with a cup with a spoon in it for me, two glasses of water and cranberry juice. About ten minutes later, she returned with the pot of hot water and a tea bag on the side. No milk. She wasn't returning with milk, so I asked the lady who was setting tables for milk. Seven minutes later, the waitress returned with milk. About ten to twelve minutes later, she brought the food on square plates and left. She didn't ask if we needed ketchup or HP etc...my food was fine. My husband got his two eggs, over easy, and two pancakes. No shredded hashbrowns, only two pancakes, not the three that were ordered as on the menu. When she came back about ten minutes later, we brought it to her attention. She was a bit snarky and said, "You don't get hash browns, but we'll look at the menu." She came back about five or more minutes later with the menu and pointed to it and said, "See, no hashbrowns if you get pancakes." I read it to her as the menu showed, (two eggs, shredded hashbrowns and toast OR 3 pancakes) we assumed that meant one could have either pancakes or toast and ordered as such. If the meal was different than we ordered, she should have corrected us at the time of ordering. Also, there were two pancakes, not three. She was quite snooty about it. The food that we did get was good. The service was extremely poor. There were only two other tables of two people who were finishing up, so she wasn't...
Read moreMy gf, Madelyn and I stopped into Ricky's for a light lunch. There were two women in front of us entering from the outside door to the 2nd inner door. We noticed that the young lady was in a modified wheelchair and the other lady with her pressed the door assist for people in wheelchairs or for whatever reason you may need assistance. The outside door opened a few inches, so we held the door wide open. As they were about to go through the 2nd door which is supposed to synchronize with the outer door, it shut closed on them. My friend Maddy immediately took hold of the second door so the two ladies could go through to the waiting area before being seated. They were seated and they enjoyed their lunch from what we could tell. I mentioned to the lovely server about the assist doors not working. She thanked us and went to the manager right away, to notify them about the doors. I have to say the server was lovely and very professional and friendly. She was the only employee that day looking after the customers. I hope she is made Manager or Assistant Manager, as she has such a pleasant way with the customers. Our food was hot, Classic Club Sandwich and we both had ice tea. I've always enjoyed popping into Ricky's. It was once a family tradition to go for breakfast/brunch. But life is always moving forward, and my parents have since passed. My children have children and my Son who lives in another province, is having the time of his life with his beautiful and highly intelligent Fiancé. The food is always good and its a great place to sit and chat...
