Tried this pub for the first time last night and understand they are going through some growing pains and staff are brand new, but our server seemed very unknowledgeable about the menu and what could/couldn’t be done. For example my girlfriend asked for the hot honey sauce on the chicken slider to be subbed with bbq and was told “no”. We pushed, at which point she said “I have to check” and came back 5 mins later to say yes. This also happened when another person in our party asked for another small substitute on the sangria flight (sub orange juice instead of grapefruit juice) and were also told “no” but when my friend said never mind, she then said “oh well I’ll check” and again was gone for 5 minutes to return with a yes. When we did get our food it was pretty good, but I think a little overpriced for the portion size.
Finally the last comment I’ll make is the strangely locked bathrooms that require a code to enter - not sure why this is even a thing? Please consider removing this or putting the code on the menu or advising your service staff to tell clientele when they are seated. I have Crohn’s Disease which can lead to urgency to use the washroom, and last night when I needed to go right away had to track down my server to get the code (bartender was very busy and didn’t catch me standing there trying to get his attention). This feature of locked washrooms may be a safety feature but also is not inclusive to those with...
Read moreHonestly had a pretty horrible time the first few times we went here. We always loved the food but the service was incredibly unwelcoming and does not match the prices you are paying. Even 7$ for a can cocktail is silly. In genreal most of the drinks don't seem worth it for the area next to other bars downtown. Really seems like the bar aspect in genreal is mismanaged with the way service goes from someone who was clearly a manger.
But we will keep coming back! Because shay gave us some truley warm and welcoming service that this city seems to lack in alot of places, she introduced herself right away while spending just the right amount of time to be efficient and personal to start, making sure she got our orders and made us feel welcome and comfortable, and when she had time she spoke and joked with us. She didn't make us feel like we were in line to get and get out like very other experience here has gone. She asked us about our food and day all while being able to tell jokes and have fun without lingering too long and taking care of our table. She made it feel like a great pub experience.
With the great food and a sever like shay, we will keep coming back when she is working and hope the rest of the issued here...
Read moreWent to SIP Neighborhood Pub for the first time earlier today and I cannot rave enough about it! So glad I got to support a new local place, been following their journey to get this place open and it's wonderful seeing them busy.
I got the mimosa flight [left to right: grapefruit, pineapple, cranberry, lemonade] to drink and it was fun! I've actually never had a mimosa or champagne before lol. They were tasty, it was fun getting a lil sampler like this. They have other flights on the menu [coffee, Caesar, sangria...] that I'll try some other time for sure.
I'm an onion ring fiend, so of course I had to order those. Super crunchy and the garlic aioli is extremely garlicky, but not overpowering.
Finally I had the meatball slider. It kind of exploded juice on my first bite, that's a good sign LOL. Juicy, tender meat, tasty as Hell. The bun was toasted REALLY well and the crunch was perfect.
My server [forgot her name RIP] was just fantastic and I could see the other servers were also very attentive. Tables got cleaned and flipped quickly, restaurant was clean.
They have a bunch of TVs showing sports channels if you're into that and their patio is gorgeous.
Not a single complaint and I'm eager to...
