Worst food ever! Ordered 7 dishes and none of them were edible. I don't believe this place has a trained cook. So waste money!
Edit response 1: Hot and sour soup - The soup didn't have nearly enough vegetables or enough ingredients and the taste was very bland.
Spicy jumbo shrimp - The menu says jumbo shrimp, but the size of the shrimp was the same as the shrimp in other dishes. The coating that the shrimp had was very salty and tasted as if it was just a chicken mix seasoning.
Shrimp with black bean sauce - This dish was quite bland and the black bean sauce didn't taste like any black bean sauce we've had before.
Sweet & sour shrimp - The breading was hard and the shrimp inside was very dry and still had the intestinal tract attached in its spine. The shrimp tasted as if it had been cooked multiple times.
Shanghai noodles - It was one of the worst ones out of the ones we ordered. The noodles were very overcooked and slimy and it was very bland.
Fried rice - This was also one of the worst ones we ordered. There were clumps of rice stuck together in balls and the rice tasted very old and hard, it felt ike it wasn't even cooked enough. Most chinese fried rice has a smokey flavour from the cooking process but it was very flavourless. It was as if it was just pan fried with soy sauce and some kind of oil.
Chicken - This was the order that was most tolerable out of the bunch but we expected so much more from your "best dish"
Overall the service was lovely and the waitress was very nice but the kitchen staff needs to get their act together.
We packed up all the food because we don't like to waste food and we attempted to make it taste better at home but in the end we had to throw it all away.
Before you ask what standard I'm grading this by, you should go to the other chinese restaurant in town to see what the dishes should taste/look like.
I hope this can help your...
Read moreBamboo Garden Restaurant is in an older building with dated but tasteful decor, and appears neat and clean. We came to dine about mid-afternoon and the restaurant was empty, which gave it a very relaxing ambience. Our server/cook was polite and attentive. We ordered the Deluxe Egg Foo Young and the Honey Garlic Veal. Both dishes were fresh and tasty, of generous portions and very reasonably priced. I especially enjoyed the Egg Foo Young, it was superb! The Veal was very good as well, but a bit saltier than I like. Food and service was great, and we had an enjoyable dining experience here. There is a lunch buffet served daily which I hope to try, when next travelling...
Read moreCame in here not expecting a buffet, but after being so warmly greeted by the staff (or owner?) we grabbed a plate and started filling it up.
Lots of options to choose from, starting with a consome soup that had me going back two more times. All of your staple Canadian/Chinese restaurant options are here, but some stand out dishes were the battered chicken wings, and breaded shrimp.
Some of the most attentive and friendly service I have experienced. I rarely travel through Neepawa, but next time I do, I know where to...
