The restaurant is a throw back of time with the decor. The menu is creative and fun to look at as you recognize the iconic people and characters that were influential in the time period bringing a smile of nostalgia. This place is a little gem and the staff are friendly and the kitchen cooked a Archie hamburger perfectly. The food was very satisfying with delectable flavour. I am very fussy about how a hamburger is served. I do not believe that meat has to be cooked with the supreme juices cooked out. My request was taken serious and I received the best hamburger I have ever ordered. My experiences of restaurants and I am a "foodie", if the food does not meet my standards and expectations I do not recommend to anyone nor will I dawn the place again. You may think I am arrogant but I know when good food is being consider a work of art, skillfully served and cooked with a personal touch. I recommend JJ's as a fun, friendly, full satisfaction experience for a relaxing, refueling and resetting yourself place. Hope to see you there! P.S A consideration. If you are worried about the rules of Covid, they got this covered as well. Clean, and following the rules...
Read moreWe stopped in because we were such huge fans of the show Parks and Recreation and this restaurant shares a name with the fictional town's diner.
Well, we had a blast. It's a neat 50's themed diner with good food and GREAT service. We loved our server, she was great with our son and had everything to us promptly and at times seemed to read our minds.
The food, while nothing special, was also tasty - very typical diner fare, but that's not an insult. It just is what it is!
Our bill for a family of three was less than 30 bucks (CAD) and that included requisite read-trip caffeine.
Again, don't expect JJ's to wow you with anything except dependable diner fare and great service. And isn't that what a good diner should be at this...
Read moreMy family was recommended to this place, so we decided to go on the way back home, so this place is a 50's/60's Diner with a cool look and cool menu names. The food is wonderful, and the server was very pleasant and a very hard worker. So my complaints are that the the red metal seats are pretty hard to sit on and the price for our food was not very good getting charged for a pack of bacon($5.50) for a little bit of bacon that I asked on my poutine is ridiculous and then charging $2.25 for a couple spoon fulls of gravy and $15.75 for a Clubhouse Sandwich I know the economy is bad but they could've at least taken a little more then $1.00 off for the fries so unfortunately we wount be back as that was a 1 time...
