Soon Han's Sushi — Restaurant in New Minas

The sushi here is probably the best sushi I’ve ever had, and is hands-down the best sushi that the valley has to offer. However, to add to several of the other reviews on here regarding this following issue (which appears to be chronic at this point), I do not agree with how when you pay for your order via debit card, that they add their own gratuity to your bill before handing the card terminal over for you to pay. It’s not at all okay and I’m glad that others have called them out on it here in their reviews to warn anyone who may seek this place out.

Because I happen to enjoy their sushi so much, I still return here; but when I do, I only pay in cash and I give them the exact amount that the sushi costs (I always get the same order each time so I know the exact amount it’ll be upon arriving). That way, they can’t add their own gratuity to my bill. Since they continue to do this to customers paying via card, I would suggest that if you are going to come here that you pay for your order with cash opposed to card. That way, you can decide for yourself whether or not you want to tip them for their services and how much you want to tip them for.

If the owners of this establishment view this, I ask that you please listen to the review(s) of myself and others and STOP adding your own gratuity to peoples’ bills on your card terminal prior to payment. Although it is encouraged (depending on quality of service being given), tips are NOT a mandatory requirement of any customer and should be completely up to the paying customer to decide if they want to tip for the provided service- it is NOT AT ALL up to you to make that...

Most cutest and wholesome sushi place I've ever been to. They were very nice when taking me and my family's orders and took the time to ensure we know what to expect from the order (spice level, with/without ginger or wasabi). The food was good and worth its price. The dining area was very clean and calming which contributed to the wholesome mood of the place. We almost missed it on our first time on the way there because the place is hidden downhill and to the side of the building, and doesn't have a sign for it near the sidewalk, but I'm very happy this was my family's first experience dining out at the valley. = ) I'm excited to order...

Cute local place. Ample parking and easy to find. Food was okay, and service was mediocre considering we were the only ones in the joint. I was not impressed when a $10.00 tip was added to our bill when we paid. I only noticed because I asked for a receipt, and I noticed the tip option was skipped. When I asked, the cashier/owner said he had already added $10. Super annoyed, I didn't argue as I try to support local business, especially during these difficult times.
