Worst service I have ever experienced by a server (server in screenshot of photo, as I didn't get a name).
She was rude, unprofessional, and inattentive.
This server our hockey team had this past Saturday was awful. She was very rude and unprofessional. Clearly couldn't handle the crowd even though the reservations were made weeks prior, along with the entire teams orders. Some of the girls from the team waited for an hour for their food. Parents had their food and finished eating, and a couple of these girls were waiting for their food. This one teammates parents weren't there to speak for her, so I spoke up for her. She asked the server when her food was coming as all but literally one other girl had their food at this point, and she was told "be patient. It's coming". She was clearly patient as it was almost an hour at this point, her teammates and their parents had their food and finished eating. The first time I asked the server, she told me "she already asked where it was and she needs to be patient. I'm bringing orders out by jersey number, lowest to highest". (This girl was right in between lowest-highest). I looked at her in disbelief and the parents beside me even said "we are number #" (single digit number, so it's obviously a lower number) and we have received our food and done eating. The server walked away. I asked another server and she told me she's not sure but will check. And didn't come back. I went up and asked this served again and she said "I've already told you, I'm bringing the food out when it's ready, so it's hot". Yet most people complained about cold fries, cold mac and cheese, cold pasta. This server then tried to tell me the kitchen is making the orders based off similar items which also wasn't true as this girl, our teammate, ordered a burger, which many other people had ordered. I had given her half my meal at this point as she was really hungry. Over an hour later, and literally the very last one to eat, her burger came out with cold fries.
A girl asked for a Dr. Pepper and the server told her "we have basic pops". And the girl asked her "what do you mean? What's that?" And she said "well not that."
Parents were sitting around chatting for a few minutes after their meals, and this server came up to us, bringing our bills. I forget the exact comment she made, but basically told us we needed to leave. We were there about an hour and a half from reservation time, with some not getting their food for an hour.
Oh, and she was asked if they do anything regarding birthdays as we had 2 birthdays we wanted to celebrate. Her response was "well, what are you thinking? We don't do much. And we don't sing. And don't have any candles." Then again, walked away.
I wanted to get her name but I was so irritated with her arrogance that I didn't even want to speak to her again. She was wearing jeans, a black shirt, longer hair in a ponytail with tattoos.
We just had an entire hockey team, with parents, spending $50+ for two people. Our family of 4 spent almost $300 with food and drinks, and her ignorance...
Read moreDisappointing. Upon arrival we were sat at a table that appeared to have potentially been split up from others with the hopes up fitting more couples in for Valentine’s Day. We quickly realized our drinks and food were not going to fit at the table. Another couple nearby who had a similar table situation had to literally balance their ketchup bottle on top of a tea container. Luckily, after some hesitation, our server did in fact move us to a table that can accommodate food orders. For drinks, I ordered a water and a non alcoholic version of the peach lemonade. My fiancé ordered a flight. Some of the glasses were not as full as others, so I recommend keeping an eye on that if you go. For an appetizer, we ordered the crab dip. I will say this was delicious. For entrees my fiancé ordered a steak with veggies and fries which was good. I ordered the beer tacos. They had a decent amount of meat but were quite spicy even without the chipotle that comes on the side. I also got a side caesar salad which had good toppings but tasted like an entire lemon had been squeezed on it which made it unpleasant. For dessert we got the Nutella brownie except it was not what was advertised on their menu (on their menu it specifically states it comes with fresh fruit and cream). When I pointed this out to our server, he just said something along the lines of “sorry. Some of our menu items are not actually what we serve” which is ridiculous to me. At a bare minimum, customers should be warned that the item they are ordering will not reflect what is written in the item description. Lastly, upon getting the bill, the non alcoholic version of my drink was priced at the full alcoholic price point of $12.95. I do admit I did not inquire about the price difference, but believe it is reasonable to assume that a non alcoholic version (which was lemonade with some peach syrup) would be cheaper or that I would be given a heads up or offered the alcohol on the side since that is standard practice at other locations and restaurants. When asked, our server said “sorry. There is only one button on...
Read moreWe have been loyal customers to the Waterloo location. We will often stop in for lunch or dinner while we are in Waterloo on a weekend and have been blown away with the quality of food every visit we have been. We thought we would try to Ayr location and we were severely disappointed that the quality of food is not in any way straight across the board with Abe and Erb locations. The nachos were a big one. We were given a smaller portion then the Waterloo location, but charged for the full size and the pita like chips on the beer and cheddar nachos that we are used to at the Waterloo location were replaced with generic brand corn chips and fewer fresh salsa toppings. Our daughter was given generic brand fried chicken strips from a box and my salad was definitely a bagged salad mix that had been over dressed and had fake Parmesan cheese slits on it with boxed croutons. We are used to the Waterloo location quality of homemade chicken strips with Panko crust, fresh romaine lettuce and homemade croutons with rosemary, the Waterloo location always puts a slice of Brie on my husbands burger the size of the patty rather then two small pieces and the quality of the fries led us to believe that they are not the same either. If Abe and Erb want to charge the same amounts at each location then the quality should be straight across the board and it is definitely not. Everyone should save their money and make sure to go to the Waterloo location instead of the Ayr location. You will understand the minute your food arrives and you taste...
