I found this place because someone posted about it in the Cornwall, Ontario Facebook group. I instantly wanted to go because it looked so good.
My friend and I decided to take a drive out and see for ourselves. The drive from Cornwall to Alexandria was a nice, calming drive.
Now, to the food! We arrived and were a bit confused as to where to park, but we managed to find a spot. The doors of the place are a bit confusing because there was no signage to show what door to go into. We picked one and guessed correctly. They had a place to sign in for contact tracing, though it was not staffed so we could have just went in and sat down (we didnt). I will credit them, it was slow and a Sunday so they may have someone watching the door when its more busy.
We went in and sat down. Almost instantly we had a waitress come and offer us menus. She was very quick and polite. Took our drink orders and had them back to us asap.
We put in our orders. I got the Bulliet burbon BBQ cheese burger and my friend got the maple bacon grilled cheese. We both got curly fries.
We did not wait long at all. I think they should change their name to "The fast pub".
As you can see from out pictures it was a good amount of food for a good price. My burger was stacked and held together by a steak knife. I didn't get cheese on mine because I'm very lactose intolerant. This was the best burger I have had in a long time. It was thick, dripping with flavor and hit the spot. My friend took one bite of their grilled cheese and "ughhh" was all I could make out before they took another bite. The food was a 10/10.
They have a patio, stage, pool table and bar. Everything looked really nice. The bathrooms could use a bit of updating, but I didnt think it was that bad.
The owner (I think) came out and asked anyone there how their food was. He looked hands on and thats great.
Overall I would make a special trip out there again. We even have a plan to see how their patio is like.
Go see for yourself how good...
Read moreCame in during a winter ATV ride. Expected them to be busy, so expectations were low.
The good: We were greated fairly quickly and the waiter helped clear a spot for us.
The in-between: No hot drinks, on a day where your restaurant is a stop for a winter poker run, common says has to have some kind of hot beverage for customers. We were rushed to get orders in, even though it wasn't overly busy yet.
The bad: Once the food was dropped off there was no more sign of a server anywhere near our table. Also the food...
The food: Our friend had a burger, which he enjoyed. Ourselves and another couple each had plates of nachos, which were without a doubt the WORST nachos I have ever had in my life. Initially we were charged an extra $5 for beef on the, which would have been fine EXCEPT whatever that meat was on the nachos was absolutely inedible. There was about 1/4 cup of dark pressed, dry, crunchy stuff, that was not immediately identifiable as meat. One taste of it and we ended up having to physically pick off every single piece of it to avoid eating it. Unfortunately, whatever was "flavouring" the meat had seeped through the cheese and the actual nachos chips. I managed to eat about 7 chips before no longer being able to handle it. My husband powered through what he could hide with salsa and sour cream and had to leave the rest. For clarity, the other couple with us had the same experience with their nachos.
Had to go to bar to get our bill and explained my thoughts on the food, so they removed the cost of the meat.
If they're a stop on any other poker runs, I will go in, get my chip and leave. Food and service were not...
Read moreSome people should be more open to receiving people who are not like you. Feeling welcome is also not being seen as a weirdo, the locals normalize being white and blue-eyed, and no, it is not even close to a stereotype of beauty, many should be honest when looking in the mirror. It was so uncomfortable that I had to leave the place with my family who were just looking for somewhere to have dinner. It is a lot to ask of a place with only 2 restaurants open after 9 pm, in the town there are only 4 places to eat. Now the live music, good God, how horrible, two guys with guitars looking at each other without knowing what melody to play, the most virtuous thing was some out-of-tune happy birthday songs. Friends, if there is no other option,...
