Best place I've dined at in Cape Breton!!

Wow, wow, wow!! What an incredible restaurant!

They say that success is never a how or a what, it's always a "who." Owner and chef, Richard, and his wife have created a place that not only serves incredible food, but delivers an amazing dining experience!!

From the moment we were seated, you could feel that this place was different. Less like a fine dining restaurant and more like sitting at an intimate dinner in their living room. The warm decor and open kitchen allowed us to connect with staff and other guests to create a family atmosphere.

As soon as he saw our 7 year-old boy, Richard came out to greet us, offering to create anything he wanted if he couldn't find anything on the menu that suited his taste. He said "send him to come see me if he doesn't see anything he likes." In the end, it was the most delicious 3 pound burger that won over our little guy.

The rest of us ordered a variety of dishes from lobster ravioli, crab cakes, and seafood chowder to the lobster clubhouse, king crab dinner, and beer battered halibut. Everything was delicious and the portions beyond generous.

We had so much food left over that we could have had two more meals! But we couldn't leave without having dessert, so we ordered the sticky fudge bread pudding with fresh made whipped cream and we finished the meal in heaven!

Overall, by far the best dining experience we have had in Cape Breton. The best seafood chowder we have ever had. And one incredible evening with Richard entertaining us throughout the meal and going above and beyond in everything they did.

Make reservations as this place is packed for good reason. If you're in Cape Breton, this place is a must for an amazing...

We went for dinner recently and we were totally blown away! Given the name and location I wasn't sure what to expect, but we were blown away. The food was delicious, service was impeccable, and totally non-pretentious.

I am celiac, and when I told the server she was very quick with some suggestions, but shortly after, the chef came out to make sure that I felt confident about my ordering and had lots of suggestions and modifications to make sure I could try anything on the menu!

We had the moule et frite to start, humungous portion and totally delicious (would have been plenty for an entrée). We had the seafood trio and the seafood laksa for entrées. The real standout of both dishes was the grilled seafood; it was easily the best I've had in any restaurant with great char lines and grilled flavour but nothing was overcooked. The emphasis on serving the best, freshest seafood is obvious. The curry base for the Laksa was super delicious.

We had a crème brulé for dessert, which was also a huge portion, delicious and not too heavy. Went home with a treat from the chef which was a great surprise and something that feels like an extra touch from another time. A great place for a special dinner; we've spent a lot more at restaurants on the mainland that couldn't even hold a candle to this place. We...

We (four of us) visited this restaurant on our way to Newfoundland in late July. We specifically went here to have a nice family dinner (we had traveled from Ontario separately) and because they had fresh lobster on the menu. I ordered the lobster, another ordered the fish trio and the last two ordered fish and chips. The service that we had was great up until the food came out. My lobster as well as the fish trio came out first, and to keep with the family dinner theme, we were waiting until the last of us got their fish and chips to start eating. After 5 minutes we started to pick at our food. After 10 more minutes we had to start actually eating. The last two of us waited AT LEAST 20-25 mins AFTER the rest of us to get their fish and chips. By the time they got their food, the first two meals that had come out were finished. The server apologized, but nothing was done to try and make it right. It was not a cheap dinner by any means, so a free dessert or some sort of effort made still would have made the restaurant their money. We were extremely disappointed and do not think we would return. I gave two stars because the food was good (when it...

We first visited lobster pound and Moore in their old location, on our trip to Nova Scotia last year (we are from Vancouver, BC). The food and service was fantastic, so when we decided to visit the Atlantic coast for the fall colors, we made sure to make another reservation! I really enjoyed the scallops - they were cooked perfectly and the citrus based sauce really complemented, and my partner's steak was Smokey and flavorful (he says this is the most delicious steak he has ever had). We shared the honey lemon cheese cake, it was a delightful balance of sweet honey and the slight saltiness of the cheese cake. Be aware this is a busy place so reservations are a must, especially before October. Also, this is not a family restaurant, so don't bring kids under 12 and expect to be accommodated. We have really enjoyed both our visits, and will continue to return anytime we are in Nova Scotia!

After so many cancelled trip to this place, finally I made it there.. a food truck that is open only till 4pm is the only drawback.... As per regulations, they could seat only a maximum of 8 customers in their premises. So, this place wudnt be one for a big group. And note, if the climate is not favourable, this place will be closed. We went there with a set of colleagues and I loved their Chicken wings and fries. Fish n chips did gain some vote of the colleagues, but wasnt of my taste. Maybe, its a bit more oily than it shud be. But my vote goes to the chicken wings... total value for the money paid. Tasty and enough for atleast 2 people.. loved the crisp exterior with the tender chicken.... do try it. Wish they were open thru the day...why are they not open for dinner too. Not sure.

This restaurant is so amazing that it is truly an experience. The food is perfectly prepared, plated beautifully, and tastes amazing. The seafood chowder bowl is a meal on its own, after trying seafood chowders all around the coast I have to say this is easily the best chowder I have had. The fish trio was an amazing combination. Finally, the lobster pasta was absolutely delicious, served with a lobster claw and a stack of garlic bread. The staff are incredibly kind, ensuring you have everything you need, and have lots of interesting stories to share about the decorations. The restaurant sits right on the coast with a beautiful view, and gorgeous decorations throughout the restaurant. I cannot say enough about how fantastic this restaurant is.
