Chambers Guest House B&B — Hotel in North Sydney

We stayed at this wonderful B&B the night before catching the ferry to Port aux Basque and again on our return....it was perfectly located, minutes from the terminal. Our room was beautifully decorated in period furnishings, the bed felt luxurious and it was very quiet despite being located on the lower floor with two guest rooms above. Our bathroom functioned perfectly and the linens, towels and sheets were beyond hotel quality. Our host, Cheryl offered us red and white wine which we enjoyed while sitting in the beautifully appointed living area and on our second visit we sipped on wine again while sitting on the large verandah overlooking the incredible vast garden. Cheryl may be best known for her truly delectable breakfast....exquisite eggs (Juia Child recipe), homemade waffles, muffins and bread, fruit compote, fresh juice and coffee. I must admit we aren’t drawn to B&Bs, so many are stuffy and creaky old places. This one had a great location for our ferry trip plus excellent reviews so we decided to try it. What a lovely home, our room was huge with a sunroom and spacious bathroom. The hostess,Cheryl, is not only kind and welcoming but an amazing chef. The fresh out of the oven croissants were perfect - and others have mentioned her homemade maple syrup, divine. Breakfast was more than ample, everything was sparkling clean, our bed was large and comfy, we never heard any noise from the other guests. This place is a must see if you're looking to stay in North Sydney. While the town itself doesn't have much to offer, this is the most charming little house! The house itself has great character and is very clean. Our room was quiet and comfortable and very charming. What really makes this place special though is the amazing host and her fantastic family. The breakfast was outstanding and over the top. They were polite, considerate and had great attention to detail. We appreciated her asking about our food preferences for breakfast and leaving out wine and nuts for later in the evening. She was welcoming and friendly and completely opened her home to us.
