Blk Swan Kitchen Hub Oakville — Restaurant in Oakville

I have been wanting to come to this establishment since it opened. Their social media pics of food and drinks tempted me, called to me in my dreams. “Go to black swan” was in my head. Well, we finally made it here and it did NOT disappoint. We have been missing a great pub with good drinks, amazing food and experience. Jayme our server is so knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Background music got 2 thumbs up from my boys and husband. They have specials everyday! The drinks- got the bangin’ blueberry lemonade- so good. 3oz of booze!! That might be helping this positive review at the moment. The food- build your own burger= superb. I had the yorkshire roast beef. Extensive kids menu and they were able to add ground beef to my sons pasta!! No other restaurant has been able to fulfill this request. Blk swan did!! I want to specifically point out their onion rings. Remember the onion rings from your childhood that were so good and couldn’t be replicated? Blk swan has done it!!! We had to order a separate basket which we ended up having as desert. We are now leaving happy and 10lb heavier. Next time we will have to wear our eating pants....

We drove out from Mississauga to try this restaurant specifically. We walked in and were offered a high top table which for accessibility reasons we cannot use. We walked over to try and sit there but couldn't. So we went back to the hostess stand and with derision were told 'fine, you can sit at a booth then'. Well, their booths have quite narrow seats and being larger people that wasn't going to work either. So we were told it would be a wait which was fine but the attitude just turned us right off and we'll likely never return to any location. What's frustrating is that we get snarled at for commenting that we can't sit at a high top and yet at least 3 parties had 2 people at 4 person tables (two 2 person tables pushed together) so they aren't even using their seating efficiently. If your tables are too small to seat the right number of people, maybe your tables aren't the right size for your servingware. If your booths and high tops are least used, maybe look at how inaccessible your space is...

Where to begin...

Hit and miss with service if you get a particularly forgetful waitress who spends more time talking to customers than remembering to enter your order. This was the last time last week.

Food quality can vary drastically. We've had raw fish/running fish batter on two recent occasions, so no more fish, period.

French fries are little pencil stub nubs, likely some of the worst we've seen for years in Oakville, nowhere near a standard fry. Head back to Costco.

Portions could be better, don't serve vegetables that have been in the steamer for hours. They're inedible.

EDIT: To Owner Frank's reply. No need to email you; we've listed the many areas of concern in our review. Your food isn't worth anyone's time, particularly at the high prices for the small portions, with pencil stub fries...
