Ornina Kebab — Restaurant in Oakville

I live nearby and wanted to give this new place a shot as I love Persian food. I ordered online and their menu looked great, with good prices too. When I arrived 30 min later, they didn’t have my order and informed me their online system isn’t completely up and running. No big deal but would’ve been a nice disclaimer on their website before ordering. I waited another 25 min and was presented with two extra shawarma wraps on the house with an apology from the manager (owner?), which was so appreciated. I got home and found out I was missing part of my order (mezze which is $14). Since at this point it had already been 1+ hours since I ordered, I didn’t get it replaced, however it was a bit of a bummer since there weren’t a ton of sauces that came with the meal and we had nothing to dip things in when the small hummus and garlic ran out. The customer service is great and I know if I had gone back to let them know they missed an item, it would’ve have been made promptly. The appetizers coming out looked delicious. The restaurant is new and it is obvious they are still working out kinks so I will reserve the 5 star review until I’m able to go back and try again when things are running a bit more smoothly… they certainly have the potential. Service is friendly and so polite. Atmosphere is nice. Decent space for the business.

For the food, I got 4 skewers to try a bit of everything (Ornina Kofta, Spicy Tawook x2, Shish Kebab). I also grabbed a Beef Sujuk with cheese.

The kebab was excellent. Would get 4 next time. And the Sujuk was flavourful and tasty. The under melted cheese impacted my score a bit, as did the presentation of the takeout skewers. Photos were taken in the same 30 seconds it was delivered.

Baklava - was a nice treat at the end. Moist and flavourful. I had three and could have eaten 12. Well done. And this was a take out order I sampled for the review. I’d definitely go back to try a full dinner. There is no wine or alcohol, but they have sparkling water and turkish coffee as nice options. Seemed busy for takeout. Everything made to order. Takes a bit of time....
