We booked this restaurant for 6 people bday celebration. Overall, we all left very disappointed with the experience we had. Interior design is very much appealing and tasteful. Sitting comfort is not: we were 6 adult people average built and of average or taller height. We found the sitting arrangements very limited just as we were in the elementary school. Wooden benches + table, hard on your back with some small cushions suitable for esthetics more than comfortable sitting. They are very low probably tailored to shorter people. We all needed to stretch out after the dinner. Price of food and beverages is very expensive for what is offered. They do not have any beers nor mineral or sparkling water. Instead, there is a long list of wines of all heritage, colors and flavors. Very pricey per bottle and we did not even look at the glass. They have a long list of cocktails and they seemed to be very interesting and unique. Laylak cocktail was one of them. Food is associated with the Lebanese cuisine but nothing to be impressed if you are familiar with it. The dips are good. Other dishes just mediocre and nothing else. Dessert list is pretty short and there was not one single creamy cake on it. They have recommended Date Cake which was a large square of thick biscuit came served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel. All 6 of us tried to have a spoon of the same single dessert and left more than half of it on the plate. None of us found it being worth of ordering but since we mentioned there was one of us having a birthday, they poked a small candle in it and charged astronomic price. Dubai dessert was similar disappointment. Each of them being priced $23-24/pc. We all have a sweet tooth and trust me this was far from worthiness of that price. We came to this restaurant because we love authentic Lebanese cuisine and we expected to have a memorable experience. We will have it really memorable for many reasons. Music was extremely loud and rather non suitable by the volume and selection: at some point of time we asked the owner to do something about it and he did. Instead of rapping loud rhythms they changed it but it was the end of the night and we headed home. We were charged gratuity of 20% which was over $100 for experience as this! We will not be going...
Read moreI had the pleasure of celebrating my husband's birthday at this remarkable restaurant, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance, adorned with lush greenery and elegant decor, set the stage for an unforgettable evening. Our experience was elevated even further by the exceptional care and attention we received from Hossep, the general manager. Hossep's warm welcome and professionalism ensured that we felt like VIPs from the start. When we mentioned our preference for a larger table, he swiftly accommodated us in a cozy VIP section, going above and beyond to make our evening special.
The culinary journey was equally remarkable. Every dish, from the appetizers bursting with homemade flavors to the phenomenal octopus and mixed grill, left us craving for more. The highlight, however, was the personalized touch of Hossep introducing us to the chef, adding a layer of warmth and authenticity to our dining experience.
As if that wasn't enough, the surprise of a complimentary cake, served with caramel sauce and coconut ice cream, was the perfect finale to an already extraordinary evening. The fact that it was on the house exemplifies the level of hospitality and generosity that sets this restaurant apart.
Side note: The kunaffa we ordered to go was the best of the best, a delightful treat that we savored long after leaving the restaurant.
Overall, our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the impeccable service to the delectable cuisine, every aspect of our visit left a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. Huge thanks to Hossep and the entire team for making my husband's birthday celebration truly memorable. We'll definitely be...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Laylak in Oakville, and I must say, it was an extraordinary culinary experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that instantly transported me to the heart of Lebanon.
The menu offered an enticing array of traditional Lebanese dishes, each bursting with vibrant flavors and authentic ingredients. From the fragrant hummus and creamy baba ganoush to the perfectly seasoned tabbouleh, every dish was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality.
One standout dish that truly impressed me was the succulent Mixed grille platter, perfectly charred and tender, with alongside fluffy rice and potato wedges. It was a delight for the senses, with each bite delivering a symphony of flavours that left me craving more.
The attentive staff at Laylak provided impeccable service throughout the meal, ensuring that every need was met and every dish was presented with care and attention to detail. Their knowledge of Lebanese cuisine and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
To top it all off, the dessert selection was simply divine. I indulged in the rich and creamy baklava, which was the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal.
