Our family stopped by Manfu Lanzhou Beef Noodle in Oakville for lunch, and it turned out to be a flavorful journey straight to the heart of authentic Chinese noodles. This cozy spot specializes in Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles, and every dish we tried was bursting with freshness and depth.
We started with the Summer Special Cold Noodle 🥗🍜 – a refreshing bowl perfect for warm days. The noodles were chewy yet silky, paired with crunchy cucumber, fresh herbs, and a savory sauce that balanced spiciness and tang. It was light, satisfying, and addictive all at once.
Next came the Zhang Jia Noodle 🍲, a rich bowl with thick, wide hand-pulled noodles topped with braised beef sauce, fresh cilantro, and crisp cucumber strips. The sauce was bold, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, coating each ribbon-like noodle beautifully. This dish alone is worth a trip back!
Finally, the star of Lanzhou cuisine – the Classic Beef Soup 🐂🍵. A large comforting bowl of clear broth, tender beef slices, radish, and perfectly cooked noodles. The broth was aromatic yet clean, not heavy, with that distinctive Lanzhou warmth. Every spoonful reminded us why this noodle tradition is world-famous.
💡 Overall: Manfu Lanzhou Beef Noodle delivers hearty, authentic flavors that transport you to Northwest China. Whether you want something refreshing like cold noodles, comforting like beef soup, or rich like Zhang Jia noodles, there’s something for everyone here. Highly recommended for families and noodle...
Read moreExtremely good beef bowl. There’s a lot of things to like about this place.
The vibe: place is very nice, well lit, friendly and chill environment. There’s a giant window into the kitchen allowing you to see the people making the food. You know the noodles are super fresh cause they make it on the spot. I appreciate the excellent hygiene with the plastic masks and hairnets as well.
The service: everyone was very nice and despite ordering from your phone people come and check in with you to make sure everything is all good. Also literally only 5 mins after ordering it came out.
The food: they provide a nice warm herbal tea that has been steeped already. A very nice treat to go alongside the food on a cold day. It is instead of water though but it wasn’t really a problem, it was just yummy warm water. The beef noodle bowl I got was great, not exactly sure what the specifics to what I ordered was as my friend ordered for me but it was they chunky beef and thin noodles (kinda like ramen noodles). Noodles felt fresh, beef and broth was full of flavour! Adding a bit of the provided chilli oil did make it a little more flavourful without making it spicy.
Overall: it was a great place to grab an amazing authentic bowl of beef noodles. Great service and great food! I’ll be back here with my...
Read more[updated July 21, 2025] went back again and things seem better, beef noodle soup is as good as ever: I choose wide noodle. Dunplings back to the initial quality. Adjusting the ratings thus.
[updated Jun 27, 2025] went back there again for lunch take-out, my 3rd visit in last week or so. While noodle stir-fry is still good, beef dumpling is disappointing this time: the filling inside doesn't maintain the basic standard: too much cutting to be almost powdery, and doesn't taste much beef at all. Guys, please keep the standard, please!
[Original] All the time I lived in China, didn't think I ever had LanZhou noodle there. So I can't really tell how authentic it is.
But make no mistake, their pulled noodle is really good, really special compared to regular soft noodle, as pulled one has some strength but remain very soft.
One can also tell the owner operator really care about the customers and service is warm and detailed, even I just take out.
Maybe has a little more beef especially for stir...
