If you don't like it, I challenge that you don't really like chicken, or good food, or pleasure, or joy.....I mean, i would doubt you are even capable of love. I am so sad for you. I have been a fan of the Brand for more than 10 years. This location has not disappointed. I mean, food wise. I was really hoping they would use me to install their Draft Beer equipment, but they had certain channels they had to use, so I will do like Elsa, and let it go. Besides, the London team is full of passion, and have smashed it out of the park. Keep in mind, this is NOT fast food. It is amazing food that is cooked to order, as fast as possible. If you are in a hurry, or have a limited time to sit down and eat, order ahead. The Packaging is superb, and most items travel well, but it is always best, in person, sharing Beers and Soju with friends. No, I don't work for bbq. I might sound like a member of the marketing team, but I have not yet received an offer...Hint Hint. Despite this deficiency, Good food is good food and Good operators like Danny and his Team, are much more rare than you realize. I have been in and out of restaurants of all types, front and back of the house, for the past 20 years. I have seen and witnessed things that I would call criminal, and have even reported a few of them to the relevant authorities, for fear of public safety. I have been in almost a dozen bbq's, including the first two built in the U.S. who were also my customers. I got to see behind the curtain. The Wizard is real. No humbugs to report. If you frequent the Korean restaurant on Adelaide at Horton, or Katsume, above Poachers, near Dufferin, this is on par, and in some aspects, surpass both of these places, with certain items. If you like Korean food, or you like fried chicken, and you don't know bbq, you are missing out. My only warning is that whatever your go-to chain Chicken restaurant currently is, well...it will be ruined for you. bbq really is next level, and this brand new location is making chicken as if they have been doing it for 20 years. Even if you have a black soul, and haven't felt anything for years, here is your chance.
do it do it ...
Read moreToday, I learned of a new chicken restaurant on Richmond St and Pall Mall St. They opened only three days ago! Their name is bbq Chicken.
I will admit that the service was a little clumsy, but the menu held enticing dishes on every page. Even the menu itself glowed with brilliant photography.
Just after my server introduced herself, I requested two canned beverages and an appetizer. The drinks were crushed pear juice and something called Coco Palm in the grape and coconut flavour. Both come from Korea. My appetizer was Assorted Cheese Balls. These came in three flavours, including original, sweet potato, and chocolate. And there were two available sizes: 3 or 6 pieces (one or two of each flavour). I chose 3 pieces and each one was great.
Fried chicken was the main event. I got two kinds: Golden Fried and Secret Sauce. The Golden was traditional fried chicken in Korean style. However, it was moist and not greasy one bit. I was let down a little because I was looking for that iconic fried flavour. In contrast, the Secret Sauce fried chicken was a banger! Tons of sweetness with a little spice. I have a hunch that this secret sauce is actually gochujang, because they are the same colour, have the same flavour profile, and are from Korea.
I went through the two drinks before I got the chicken, so I picked up another. This was labeled refreshing water with peach juice. As the name suggested, it was watery with little flavour.
I had mixed feelings about the fried chicken, but overall an experience to remember. I plan to try all their fried chicken variants in the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at BBQ Chicken in downtown London, and it was an experience worth noting. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to seat us.
As for the food, BBQ Chicken certainly lives up to its name. The menu offers a variety of chicken dishes, each cooked to perfection. We tried their signature BBQ chicken, and it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The smoky, slightly sweet sauce paired beautifully with the crispy skin, making every bite a delight. The sides were also impressive—especially the coleslaw, which had a great balance of creaminess and crunch.
The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable considering the quality and location. The restaurant had a cozy vibe, making it ideal for both casual dinners and small gatherings. The only downside was that it got a bit noisy as the evening went on, but that didn’t detract from the overall experience.
I’d definitely recommend BBQ Chicken to anyone in the area craving flavorful, well-cooked chicken in a laid-back setting. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying more...
