Michael Gibson Gallery — Attraction in Ontario

The owner is an affable fellow with an always professional and artistically refined attitude. I am always pleased to see him if he happens to be in when I visit. The works available for viewing and for sale are always interesting pieces and one can always find one or two that would do well for the home, work space, or leisure space.

Staff visibility, presence and courteous professionalism largely depends on the person and day one visits, sometimes one is attended to and every question answered and sometimes one is ignored or treated with an element of disinterest and detachment. When I consider spending thousands of dollars on an art piece at any gallery I expect attentiveness, diligence and effort on the part of any staff member.

As we cannot rate half stars I will rate this gallery 4 starts rather than 3.5 giving it the benefit...

Michael Gibson Gallery is one of the top commercial galleries in Canada. They have an impressive stable of important artists who create very diverse works. Contemporary art from emerging young artists, through to pieces from renowned senior artists, and some historic works, can all be found here. Michael and Jennie are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help you learn more in a down-to-earth, no-pressure manner. Their informative advice over the years has helped us learn how to collect pieces we love wisely. Also, their openings are so much fun... a gallery full of fellow art-lovers and an opportunity to get to know the artist; you can't ask for more. Before long, it starts to feel like a family gathering (in a good way 😉). ...
