Green Haven Bakery and Market — Restaurant in Ontario

Date of visit: Monday, July 1st 2023 We were visiting St mary's On Canada Day, and stopped in to Green Haven Bakery because it was one of only a small handful of businesses available. We ordered a number of their hand pies, some scones, and biscuits.

the fry pies were delightful and full of flavour. Fry Pies are small hand held pies that are filled with different flavoured fillings and smothered in a sugary glaze. The Donuts are amazing.

As it was a holiday, and fairly late int he day, they did not have a lot left - mostly the fry pies donuts, etc. - but they also make bread and other baked goods.

They offer a number of other options - such as a little market with some hand crafts, local preserves, and gifts. The baked goods are clearly the reason to go here. The lady working here was very friendly and helpful. she was eager to discuss their business and what sorts of things they usually offer.

OMG! Simply the best donuts of my entire life! It’s like you’re biting into a warm pillow that tastes like a hug. If you have a sweet tooth, this place is heaven. The donuts are warm, however not too oily or too sweet, which added to the “best donut ever” effect… ugh, I’m obsessed. I’m from Toronto and I’ll definitely be coming back to Saint Mary’s just to grab a donut from Green Haven. I’ll dream about these donuts. Reminds me of a traditional Mennonite country potato donut if you’ve ever had these, they’re definitely the best way to make a savoury donut that just melts in your mouth after just a bite. Super addicting and a great treat every once in a while. We’ve had them super fresh and even came at the end of the day, either way they’re soo good. If they’ve been sitting for a little bit, we just warm them up for 10-15 seconds and taste just as fresh.
