In a town that punches above its weight you can add a short visit to the St Marys Station Gallery. The curator has wisely taken advantage of St Marys proximity to the world class Stratford Festival in staging different shows. The current exhibition called ‘Fabulous Fakes’ features props from many plays from the Festival including a headpiece from a 2008 Caesar and Cleopatra production that started the impeccable Christopher Plummer. Wasn't sure it would be open on a Thursday afternoon, but the gallery was even though the trains weren't running (who knew that this town is linked to GO and via!) A lovely place to stop, take in some lovely art and have a chat with the curator about what we were enjoying. A new artist for us (Candy McManiman ~ Paintings of the Endangered) and happy we stopped by. Seemed to be a busy town, even in March! We will come again on some warmer days and check out more of what this little gem on the river...
