Kerry's St. James St. Eatery — Restaurant in Ontario

Went for the first time for Mother’s Day. Our waitress - maybe doesn’t mean to but came across very snooty and rude. Took our drink order. Came back took our food order. Brought food to our table. And that was the last we saw of her. Other than when she was eyeballing us to leave. Food was ok. Nothing exceptional and we overpriced for sure. Enjoyed spending the time with our mom and were chatting over our second cup of coffee that took 20 mins to get after an older gentleman finally came over with coffee. He was the best part of the experience. While finishing our coffees the owner came over and actually kicked us out. Never once in our lives have we been told by wait staff or an owner to kindly leave the table as they were trying to flip tables. There was literally 2 guys waiting to be seated and that was it. Another table was already leaving as well. Not once were we asked how everything was. Not once asked by our waitress if we wanted anything else or dessert. Not told they don’t bring the bill to the table. Apparently you’re supposed to mind read that you pay at the till without getting the bill. My husband was eyeballed by our waitress for 20 mins. And then the owner came to tell us to chat on the patio if we wanted to but that they were flipping tables. Again no real line up of guests waiting. Just horrible service. That is not how you go about it. Why not ask us if we wanted anything else and then when we would have asked for the bill you could have said to pay at the till. You know. Like normal customer service. Never again will we dine here. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and on Mother’s Day too. We were just tying to enjoy some catch up time with our mother. No tip for you. And never coming back. Get some better customer service skills. And tell your waitress to actually see her tables once in awhile. Just horrible ending to what should have been a good morning out. We’ll stick with the Green of Renton. Way better food. Way better portions. Way better pricing. And absolutely way better...

Our server, Shae, daughter of owner, Kerry, providing fast, friendly and knowledgeable service. Shae answered all dietary questions I had and proudly asserted they do not deep fry sausages or bacon. Its a quaint, eclectic eatery. The owner, daughter and other staff are engaging and humorous. Which is nothing compared to their food. Today we had the clubhouse sandwich, that comes with home fries. Delicious. The bacon is so flavorful and cooked to perfection. We don't live near by, but always try to drop in once or twice a summer. If we did live near by, would be a weekly stop.
