With Trump declaring an Economic War on Canada, I have stoped supporting the Starbucks and Tim Hortons of the world and now support local businesses. In my search for a new Coffee Shop, I found Kingston Coffee House at 1046 Princess St to be the perfect spot being central, with free parking, lots of seating, and nice decor. Sadly however, this store is in "DIRE" need of updating. The laminate floor is curling-up and needs to be replaced; The walls could use a fresh coat of paint; The old curled-up carpet at the front entrance is a tripping hazard; But most importantly, the entire store needs a Deep-Clean and be kept that way on a "Daily Basis", which is obviously not being done at the moment as you can see in the photos. The floors are filthy and haven't been cleaned in days. The shelves are covered in dust, and worst of all, the bathroom reeks of urine and there's "something brown" on the roll of toilet paper. Just disgusting! This could be easily addressed if the gentleman behind the counter did not spend his time playing games on his phone as I have noticed. This Coffee Shop is definitely a diamond in the rough. To the ower(s) of Kingston Coffee House. If you want to take advantage of the potential influx of new clients who want to support local, you will need to step up your game, and soon.

very friendly staff, good espresso, and wonderful atmosphere. also, the latte art is fantastic here! always makes my day. i would give it 5 stars except their matcha tea latte’s are pretty terrible… everything else though is top notch. really good muffin selection too! they also sell a ton of local products from kingston and always advertise events going on in the community. a great addition to the kind of depressing atmosphere/mostly fast food places at the kingston centre.

Love Coffee House Kingston. Has been coming here since before the name change. Some of the best coffee around. London fogs (smogs) lattes, espresso and snacks are so good! Always something local that you can pick up and take home. Servers here are the best! Kudos to the only guy in YGK that I have met so far that can make animals and not just hearts! All locations are also very clean and comfortable! Perfect little coffee shop(both locations) Would recommend!

This is long, but im hoping the manager/owner will see this too. I checked my calendar, and this terrible experience was on Sunday, March 26, in the afternoon

The absolute worst cappuccino I've ever had and a much worse experience with the so-called barista . Cappuccino terrible and very, very watery. When I said it wasn't strong enough and I wanted something else instead (i asked instead to just make a strong Americano coffee). He was NOT happy that I said it didn't taste at all like a cappuccino, then quickly grabbed my cappuccino off of the counter and truly THREW it at/into the garbage across from him. He still charged me for my second one despite me saying it wasn't right since the first one was so bad and now thrown out. I pointed out how much money at cost it would have cost him and asked why he was being so rude. Then he raised his voice at me and said it was ME who was being rude and my fault that I didn't like how he made the cappuccino. And still wouldn't give me my American free.

I told him I was going to call his manager the next day but didn't bother. But I'm following through now... and also told him I'd never set foot in there again and would pass on the word.

I also bought a pastry...not good either...dry.

Also, I was with a group of friends that day, and they also had bad quality beverages that he made.

I noticed that someone in the comments said this place has gone downhill recently...in the last year (?) I noticed that the positive reviews aren't current.. from mostly 2 to 6 yrs ago. My guess is that 90% of the photos and 75% of the positive comments are old

I hope that idiot doesn't work there still, as this happened about 6 months ago. I should have reviewed it back then

Decor is ok, but just small tables and small space.

There's so much potential for this...

The latte art here is normally really intricate so I think the staff member was new, because it was really subpar. The drinks only contained one pump of the flavour syrup that we requested it added for, would’ve preferred it a bit sweeter (ie the build for most coffee shops of 2 pumps for a small, 3 for a medium and four for a large). The espresso was really good and the ingredients were high quality. The girl working was very polite and took time to make a quality drink, without taking longer than necessary. Atmosphere is always nice, pleasant decoration, however there was a lot of dirt on the ground especially by tables which could’ve used a sweep. Shelves could’ve used some dusting as there was some build up. This was my favourite coffee shop but yesterday seemed kind of disappointing, it was 14 dollars for 2 drinks before tip. If I'm spending 7 dollars per drink, I would hope that the latte art would be of its usual quality. I don't want to be rude, it just was a very disappointing experience.

Written based on February...
