It was very busy so we understood the waitress was busy, and we were a rather large group. However, our breakfast didn't come with jam so we asked for jam and condiments. Didn't come five to ten minutes later we asked again. Meanwhile, other people are being seated and served. We asked two other waitresses and even mentioned our food was getting cold and nothing. Then when the condiments came there was a passive aggressive comment made when my father tried to make light of the wait by saying my mother couldn't eat without her hot sauce the waitress said "What cant she eat without hotsauce?" with a sarcastic/aggravated undertone. This didn't sit well with us considering our food was now cold after waiting over 30 minutes for our toast to have jam and my mother to have hot sauce. It shouldn't be surprising that paying patrons would want condiments before their meal is cold. The waitress went on to tell our party that my father was complaining about her. It was said right behind my seat, it was very apparent it was meant for me to hear. She was very passive aggressive and would say things to (what really seemed) illicit a response and than act like a victim. Simple solution to this matter would have been to simply say sorry for the wait and nothing more would have transpired. There were more issues for other party members, including missing food and plates being sent back, but oh well. Honestly, the food was not that good. A couple sitting beside us left most of their plates untouched when they left...Guess that should have been a big indicator of what was to come lol
Update: Reply from owner/manager saying they came to our table to apologize. During my time in the restaurant no manager or owner came to our table to apologize, even though my father went to speak to management at the front after being ignored and experiencing rude behaviour. No thank you in regards to your offer of a free meal, why wasn't there a free meal or discount offered at the time we tried to talk to you there? You had your chance to rectify...
Read moreOur food came out fairly quickly, however it got cold waiting over 30 minutes and several attempts with 3 different waitresses to get jam and hot sauce . Then the older waitress with long hair who was our main waitress started acting in a very passive aggressive way she even came over to insult us while praising herself just for asking for condiments?? Like even saying to our other table referring to my husband who was finally reporting it to the manager that " he's over there complaining about me " she was attempting to look like a victim of the situation she created ! Then after the hot sauce was finally brought to my table, she said to my husband rather than me. What? What can't she eat without her hot sauce? Not saying, I'm sorry for the delay that your food is now cold etc but acted as a victim just because we asked for our condiments. Doesn't it make sense that people would like to have some jam on their toast with breakfast that they're paying $16 for? Besides the charge of the drinks? We will never go back and we had a very large party of two tables. Nobody was satisfied including the bacon not being adequately cooked, The pancakes were so incredibly dry. They fell apart like a dry cake would. I have never had pancakes that I disliked that much before. Orders were made incorrectly and missing items for others that were there. We will never go back., this was our very first time there and the waitress knew it . The manager didn't even offer a discount of any kind. Imagine paying $85 to be argued with and insulted and made out to look to other customers like you're a troublemaker. Perhaps she needs to get a makeover because she clearly very jealous and doesn't like dealing with...
Read moreFound this restaurant by chance when we were looking for baby items excitedly. We went in for breakfast, and immediately it was an amazing experience from the staff and service down to the surroundings. I felt like I was in greece, having breakfast. The food was amazing, eggs cooked perfectly soft on tender fresh bread, with hollondaise; we loved it. When I got the bill, i was in shock. Breakfasts and coffees for four people who took home leftovers from being so full, came to less than $80. I have gone back with my husband a few times now, wondering each time when the quality and service plummets, while they jack their prices; ive been happily surprised every time. Every meal has been excellent, every dish has been perfectly balanced with spices and flavours, while being true to old world cooking with ingredients that are fresh, and portions that would make any european grandmother proud to serve. Going to this restaurant feels like going home to a beautiful traditional family dinner, and the staff treat you as such. They have celebrated our exciting chapter in life with a newborn excited and congratulating us, and have asked and played with our daughter every time we have had dinner, excited to see us and her. As much as I would love to keep this place my own secret oasis, they deserve to be recognized and have an incredible and successful business; I hope they expand and please add some locations to towns like Strathroy (😉).
This is one place in london that Id recommend to absolutely anyone for breakfast, lunch, supper or...
