Been going to this restaurant since I moved to this area in 2020. The only reason I used to go there cause it used to be close by. It was good about it until.....2023. In 2023 something changed. They changed up how they used to operate. The service was better and most importantly the food tasted better. Back then we used to order different items and none of it was anything to write home about, but since 2023...big changes. Since then I love going here. Everything I order is fantastic. And now I am happy I live close by. 😊
Update: In 2024, after I've been to this restaurant a few times this year I have finally taken notice of one thing I have never noticed before. And it's given me reason to change my 5 star rating to a 3. It's the fact that the female server uses the same glove for everything, and I mean everything. She brings the menu to the table with the glove, cleans other tables with the same glove, sweeps the floor while the food is being prepared w the same glove, brings the food to the table with the same glove, take the food off the table w the same glove. I go to pay my bill and she is coming out of the washroom with the mop to mop the floor and she see me, puts the mop down proceeds to cash me out w the same glove, then I ask for a take out box and she brings it to me w the same glove. This is simple wrong and dirty. She's been using the glove, I realized not the keep the service clean for the customers but to keep herself clean from all the 'dirty' customers. So essentially, the glove is not there to provide a clean environment for the customers but to keep herself clean. And if that means touching every surface and serving food with the same glove, then so be it, as long as she is not coming in contact w any surface to dirty herself. I am writing this not to get her in trouble or for her to lose her job, but for the owner to see this and have a talk w her about possibility of changing her gloves when serving food, or ideally not to wear any gloves at all, but rather wash hands between tasks, especially when about to come in contact w food. I have found myself now very reluctant to visit this...
Read moreWhen it gets chilly, a big bowl of pho is always a winner! This was my first time at Pho 4 U and have gone back once since. I have been to many pho spots in London and decided to give 4 stars based on the food, price and overall experience:
Food - 3.9 Service - 4 Atmosphere - 3.5
The first time, we had the beef pho (delicious broth), fresh spring rolls with their peanut sauce (sooo yummy), deep fried spring rolls and fresh green tea. The second time I had the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl (delish), deep fried and fresh spring rolls, because clearly they were a hit! Both times, the food was made fresh (so it tasted), came out hot, was loaded with flavour and the portions were great!
Everything you needed was at the table and tea was served first. The service was good. The atmosphere was spacious, very quiet and everything echoed. We learned quickly not to sit where the door path is as it gets cold if it’s busy with customers or delivery pick ups. Overall, the space was kinda cold, I ate with my coat on!
Good food, nice people and definitely will return!
Tried to add photos of the space and of the meals but Pho 4 U doesn’t allow them...
Read moreWe ordered 4 orders of spring rolls along with other food just now. Ordered 2 vegetable spring rolls at 2 PC per order at $8 , and 2 x orders fresh rolls at the same pricing. Specifically told them NO NOODLES. DROVE ALL THE WAY FROM ST THOMAS. Got home to find out that the vegetable spring rolls were actually noodle spring rolls. I attached pics. This is disheartening. Both orders of spring rolls were requested and told NO NOODLES. STILL THEY PUT NOODLES AND EXTRA!
If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies - this place doesn't care. They will make what they want and give you what they want. They give 0 cares about service, or making your food properly the way you request it. Their pricing is not comparable in the slightest to actual PHO places.
Do yourself a favour and drive to PHO DAU BO where it's proper Vietnamese food. This place is a disgrace to call itself a pho place. For the price you pay (WAY MORE) than regular (and way better) places - do yourself a favour and...
