We ate lunch here at the start of March break, Monday 10 March, two adults and 3 grandchildren. The children had been before with their parents and we're excited to be going again, but was our first (and last) visit. The place was surprisingly quiet given that it was March break. We were greeted and seated promptly and drinks orders taken. Coffee for the adults and pop/juice for the kids which was brought while we studied the menu. Not long afterwards the waitress took our food orders. I pointed out that the handle of my coffee mug had a crack running right through it. No offer of a replacement cup (I suspect the offending article is still in use!!) Didn't have to wait long for the food order to arrive, however when it did one of the children's orders was incorrect - French toast instead of pancakes. She didn't want to make a fuss so just accepted the error but came away still hungry. Regarding the other meals, my wife's Eggs Benedict was stone cold although her home fries were hot so the egg was pretty unappetizing. Similar story with my meal. Hot home fries but the Southwestern steak etc was at best lukewarm. We complained about the Eggs Benedict and we're offered a discount. How hard would it have been to pop it in the microwave? One of the other children had the Chicken Caesar salad..a not very large plate of basically romaine lettuce with a few small strips of chicken ...distinct absence of bacon bits and very few croutons, another hungry diner at the end of the meal. $4.25 was discounted on my wife's $16.99 disaster and the final bill came to roughly $100 which seems a lot for 3 diners to leave hungry. Given that Brockville has lots of alternatives for breakfast/pancakes such as Mike's diner (the best) Jon's diner and even Sunset Grill, I fail to see why Stacked still is in...
Read moreI have frequent this breakfast house about 7 times in the last 2 months. The food is okay. Service is great to average depending on who is serving you. Long wait at the front door. Many servers passed by, going to the tables ignoring the front door, avoiding eye contact, or any type of acknowledgment. Once seated service was okay. Coffee served promptly, ordered Steak and eggs. Blue rare with a side of hollandaise sauce. Meal came at a good pace. However, Steak came at best medium to medium well. Server took about 5 minutes to do her check. I pointed out my overcooked steak was not blue rare. She said there was no way for her to do a blue rare steak. She offered another steak. I declined, the restaurant had gotten busy, and it would have taken too long and without the hope of being cooked properly. My table was totally avoided until I flagged the server for the check. Besides my first cup of decaffeinated coffee, I did not get offered anymore refills. I got my bill. I left no tip. No manager or supervisor visit the table. Nor any other type of compensation was done. I ordered the same meal in 3 occasions, my steak was properly cooked the second visit. On the first time I ordered, and cooked wrong, promptly a discount was provided without asking. The staff apathy towards the customers at the door is palpable and must be addressed. I have visited this store 8 times since it opened for business. In all other occasions, the food was good, yet the service would have been great, if it wasn't for...
Read moreI have been here two times now, once dine in and the second take out. Generally speaking the food is very very good, but both times I have went there were small concerns. The time I ate in, I got breakfast with waffles, the waffles were heavy and doughy instead of light and fluffy and even in some bites I bit painfully into little hard chunks, like batter that was blended improperly. I ended up leaving the waffles on the plate but because the service was great and the rest of the food was more than adequate I didn't say anything. This take out order I did today was a Meatlovers breakfeast and the food is amazing! I am certain I was supposed to get 3 over easy eggs, and for some random reason there was only 2, hardly a big deal but I thought I should mention it. To be honest I only write this review because I tried to call the shop a few times, for no other reason to find out if my assumption that there was supposed to be three eggs was wrong or right, but no one will answer it. Other than these things, the food is great and its worth going back even in these minor...
