After reading the many 1☆ reviews, I was very anxious to dine at this restaurant. There seemed to be a common theme with people of colour... and we took every route to find an alternative location. But it's location really is prime and we relented to at least have a few sealed drinks, as we were still very cautious after reading the reviews. I am usually a very happy, talkative and friendly person... but every action gave me pause and I entered the patio of the restaurant silent and observant. I watched for the dark haired female serve like a hawk, as I was preparing myself to be treated poorly. No such encounter. We had a lovely staff member who was friendly, attentive and warm. She truly did her best and checked on us often. I was very happy we had decided to give this establishment a chance, as my father and fiance also had a great time. It is very reasonably priced for food and drinks, but the staff member's talkative, friendly demeanor elevated the entire experience... as did that amazing Baileys sticky toffee pudding cake. While I recognize we may not have encountered this dark haired unpleasant staff member, I believe the establishment is worth giving a chance. They do hire a certain look for their establishment and it's noticeable, but the employees were working very diligently and you could tell they were giving their all. I would say their treatment of customers seemed professional and pleasant. Perhaps they took notice of the past reviews and took action to improve? The main dishes quality were not exceptional (steak cut was tough and sinewy), but it was reflective of the prices in a high tourist location. My steak was a bit over cooked, but I could forgive it easily, as the seasoning was my favorite Montreal steak spice and it had great flavour. It's a quick meal location geared towards families and you get the option to have a few alcohol based drinks with a lovely view. They executed their meals quickly and professionally. All items had good flavour. Drinks were creative and tasted great. Dessert was a fantastic end to the meal and a highlight for me. In all it was a pleasant experience. I encourage you to try this location and hope this review helps decrease the anxiety you might feel after reading...

My husband and I went here last weekend. The perch dinner was really good and the place was clean. Only the patio was open because of Covid and there was a bit of a wait, but the food was good so it’s worth it. Patio also has a great view of the water and beach.

We did have a bit of an incident though. It was our first time there and the menu said the perch dinner was $16 a plate. When we got the bill, we were charged $18 a plate. We asked the server about it and she said she “didn’t know the prices of the menu” (which I thought was strange) and got the manager. The manager said that was the old price but there was a recent price increase because fish prices increased, which is fine. But we weren’t basing the $16 price on a previous visit (We live in Oakville and had never been before), and we both say we saw $16 on the menu itself. We paid the bill and left with no help from management, but it bothered us so we talked about it and came to the conclusion that they must have reprinted their menus to reflect the new price, but the old and new menus look similar enough that a couple of old menus got slipped in and were given to us. So management really should go through the menus and check that no old menus are in there, because it will cause the same problem again. Honestly it bothered me that we were brushed off as being cheap, when there probably was a logical explanation for this issue.

On a side note, you shouldn’t keep your menus at the front where customers can touch them, and potentially spread Covid. I saw several people touching the menus who were customers not servers, and it seemed very unhygienic considering Covid. I know there isn’t a lot cases locally but you do serve people traveling from other areas of Ontario (we are...

My husband had been here on a few Friday the 13th motorcycle rallies before and said "you are in for a treat". He was right .. like usual. We were on a wee vacation and celebrating our 20th anniversary so this was a perfect stop for lunch.

Our waitress, Alex, was incredible. She clearly knew this menu well as she offered up suggestions that would please. The garlic brie onion appetizer was a meal on its own! I had never had this combination before and it has me motivated to duplicate at home. Hubby loved his escargot and wings and my French onion soup and cesear salad was very tasty. Embarrassed that we had to leave food behind but that was a compliment to the chef that the servings were beyond ample!

I should warn you, the Mermaid Water (curacao & rums) is a green drink and it kinda snuck up on me ...

Finished our lunch and went for a photo op beachside. Great restaurant, great location! See you this summer!

Shout out to Alex! Sometimes during a busy lunch shift staff forget to smile and go unnoticed. Your energy as you bopped around that restaurant checking on your tables was nice to see. I heard years ago that a waitress should always pick something up as she returned to the kitchen - never go empty handed - efficient and wise advice.. You collected plates and glasses so quickly and discreetly people didn't even notice your stealth-like attendance. Impressive to see you in action. You. Are. A. Gem! Whatever your future plans are, you, my dear, will go far with that...
