Iāll admit the food is great, but the service is just NOT. The prices are high but I admit they are fair considering the high quality - Here is my issue when you are dropping $15 to $40 (actually $47 my last visit ) for breakfast or brunch - common courtesy, a smile for instance or a āhave a nice dayā would be welcome.
Hereās the thing - the old man is just plain crotchety. He doesnāt love what heās doing - perhaps he loved the idea of it but when they get busy -customers can expect at the very least to be instantly treated as nuisances . He has zero ability to multitask under pressure in a controlled, professional manner.
The cause for this review is a busy morning- a line 3 deep. A woman in front asked for the wifi (she obviously had special needs) she didnāt understand what he had said so asked again
Rather than take 2 seconds and write it down his frustration and eye roll enraged me
Well I know why they charge exactly at the time of ordering- I would have walked out. Bottom line great food but Iām not supporting a local business in this amazing, tight knit town when itās being run by a grumpy old man.
I just want to add that I noticed the lack of response from this business when ppl take the time to write a good review- and ultimately promote his businessā¦. Nothing - and Iām...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately, this is not a cafe as advertised, but a diner with very high prices.
They do not serve espresso or freshly ground coffee. I spent $5 for a ācappuccinoā that was made with a very weak pour over of coffee that had been ground a long time ago and milk frothed in a nespresso milk frother. I took a few sips and threw the rest out.
To eat I had a tuna salad sandwich, which was dry tuna served on top of a mayonnaise sauce (instead of in a mayonnaise sauce ā not quite the same thing), served on a hoagie bun. That was $ 12. My wife had a Caesar salad made with store bought dressing and croutons, and no Parmesan cheese (the bacon was real though, so points for that). That was another $12. We threw half of it out.
So we spent $35 for half a salad, a dry sandwich, and a few sips of coffee, which was all we could finish. Very over priced for the quality of what was served.
On the bright side, the service was very good. Both the people who served us were very friendly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were having a spontaneous and rare family get-together, and we agreed to meet up in Orangeville (from Montreal, Toronto, Flesherton, Bermuda, and one globe sailing traveller). Seven of us, on December 27th. The restaurants/cafes that we could all safely eat at (no fast food) that we called from the road were either closed, ābusyā, or could/would not accommodate us at one table. Then my son called Euphoria! Yes! And when we got there, minutes later, there was a long table with, yes, 7 chairs and a super cool and friendly host. (I apologise that we did not ask your name⦠we would have asked you to join us if you were not running the whole cafe by yourself! You even stopped to take a family photo for us.) Food was delicious and wholesome and fresh - and magically prepared in some kind of space/time continuum so we ate together, while he prepared other orders. Memorable for us, and highly recommended to...
