Halibut House Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Orangeville

Good Friday's dinner was disappointing! Dropping over $120.00 for a family of 4, the haddock was over cooked, and I was not impressed with the poutine (which I don't even eat, I order for my husband and eldest child to share). Dry fries, a dollop of gravy and maybe 5 curds on top! (It's a good thing I ordered an extra side of gravy) Addionaly, there we no condiments included this time. I've ordered from this restaurant several times and have enjoyed it, but tonight's order was atrocious. Considering I placed this order online before noon, to pre-order for delivery around dinner time, I expected more quality for the amount of money I just dropped. I give only 2 stars for my past experiences...

Someone posted a review that is false. It's served on a plate on the indoor tables that we walk past to get to the cash. The owners are posting 5 star reviews to try to raise their rating. Their names were listed in newspaper reviews so not hard to see this. Maybe put effort into improving service and food quality, instead of lying to the people you want as customers.

Phoned in a for a later pick up, still had to wait. This is the third time this happened. Total waste of time to expect them to have it ready if you phone ahead. Chips were soggy and fish was just passable. 3 strikes your out. Will not...

I believe 3 stars is a fair assessment because quality was exactly as I expected, no better, no worse. At first a little shocked by the price, when we opened the bags it was evident why. The portions are massive, our order for 5 could’ve easily fed a family of 10 no problem. I have read some of the other reviews and they are so negative. I’m curious if they are under new management or ownership as our experience was overall pleasant.
