This place is a hidden gem. I have been coming here almost daily for breakfast since the place opened. The food is great. The prices are reasonable and the staff are next level. I know them all personally because I am a regular. They make me feel like right at home everyday. Even though I am a breakfast regular I still enjoy the odd lunch and dinner of fish and chips. Never had a bad meal. The fish and chip are great. If I had to be critical... a couple of minor things I would improve on is the coffee, and condiments. The coffee is ok but I have had better. I would use high-quality brand name condiments if I managed the place. Other than that, it's a great place to eat. It has been interesting watching the place get busier over the years. From the last time I ordered from this location Aug 2023 the cost has gone up to $38 for 2, and the cod fish n chips dinner enjoyment was disappointing overall. The batter was sticking to the codfish I had to scrap the fish off the batter which was hard and the fish tasted like it had freezer burn on it. I have had freshly caught cod in NFLD flash frozen that was way better. Even a serving of Captain Highliner fish deep fried at home would have been better with No Name french fries!! I visited this location Sunday 11/12/2023 i threw out chunks of hard batter and dried up fries. I was very disappointed with the server not getting my order right several times and spending so much money on a bad fish n chip dinner. I will simply be better off next time with Pan fried Fish from Captain Highliner for $6.99 and No Name french fries...

I had the haddock and chips and it came with a good amount of fries and one huge piece of fish. You can get another piece of fish for like 4 bucks (I might be a few bucks off) but one is definitely enough for most people. They also give you a small amount of coleslaw. The fish was well cooked with a light, crispy battered shell that had really good flavour. I had to dock one star because the fries were not as crispy as I would've liked (probably not double-cooked), plus they only had generic tartar sauce in little packets.
