Thornton Arms Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Oshawa

Went as they offered a 90 cent wing night and I was looking for a new spot. Walked in and found the atmosphere was very nice. The place was active but not packed with customers. There were tables near the windows, a bar area, and booth to the side. Several televisions were on so you could check action if you desired. The nice thing was that the volume was not loud like most places. Once the TV is loud, the people have to speak louder, and it gets difficult for me to enjoy my meal and talk at my own table. No problem at this spot and it was perfect! Ordered wings and decided to get 20 as I assumed they may be average to small. WRONG! These wings were large and cooked perfectly. Also had the pickle spears for the table and they were great too. I had to take wings home as it was too much to eat - and I love my wings. They also have a patio outside if you want to sit there instead. Servers are very pleasant and food come out hot and in short order. Oh yeah - beer is nice and cold too! I will return for sure....

Very nice change /upgrade to the look of the place. But should have kept the old menu or at least parts that were differentthen other places... now this place is the same as the rest of all the other "new/revamped" restaurant around oshawa in the last 2 years. What happened to this town. The food went SUPER downhill 😞. They had such a different tastes for meets(pulled pork) that was unique to them that I can't find anywhere else... and now it's all the same as everywhere else. Ordered a pulled pork, apparently the bun was to be toasted and where's the meat? This was maybe worth 7 bucks..... I paid 18+ for a pulled pork that my dog didn't even want to eat... and a salad, and well... you can't mess up a salad. So 🤷‍♀️ looks like I won't be coming here cause as I can make whatever they gave me at home for much cheaper and bigger portions with a much better taste then just adding a plain BBQ sauce on.. So much for my fav pulled pork place around the GTA. Such a sad...

Went here for lunch today, and placed the order online. I was assuming someone would call me when my order was ready but they didn't, so I had to go in and ask about it. I got the fish and chips, and it could've been better. The fish was soggy and lukewarm, and same with the fries. The price was pretty good and my server was kind, but I would've preferred fresh, hot food...I don't think I will be purchasing from them again just due to this lackluster food experience.

EDIT: My original review was 2 stars, its now 1. I went back to give them another shot and I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the food I recieved. The chicken burger I got (pictured) was chicken fingers on a bun with lettuce thrown on it and no sauce whatsoever. The fries were seasoned when I asked for regular and the sandwich wasn't even hot. I'm not going to be ordering from them again, which is unfortunate, because I work...
