Came here with my family not too long ago. I ordered their new special item which they call ''bubble tea'' , there was only one option which was the mango one with that came tapioca pearls. And it was absolutely disgusting, it tasted very watered down. Bubble tea is supposed to have a smoothie like texture but this looked like slush. It was nothing like I've ever tasted before, it tasted wrong. Terribly wrong. I couldn't bear myself to have more than a sip. I then told the server that I didn't want it anymore because it tasted so bad, and we had ordered two but they still charged us for one. When I asked her to try it for herself she refused. You can also tell that they don't make an effort with their sushi rolls. As you can see in the picture you can clearly see a line of sauce poorly made it looks like they were too lazy to make it look presentable. Also, I had ordered calamari and there was barely any sauce on there, it was very dry. Usually when I order these they would put sauce on the side to dip the calamari in but I guess they must be on some kind of budget which is why they didn't do so. The waiters are rude and don't greet you properly, they don't check up on you and ask you if you need any more water/soda. They don't check up on you if you're doing good in general, they hand you a tablet and let you figure out the rest. The only time I've been smiled at in this restaurant is when I hand them money to pay. Anyways I won't be coming back, I'd rather go to Sushi Kan instead.

Edit: While I still stand by my original review, I have since ordered Maki trays on 2 occasions from Banc Sushi on delivery, and the quality has been outstanding each time. I am changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars based on the Maki rolls alone. I don't make this review lightly. This is the only sushi place within walking distance of our house so we really wanted to love it! Unfortunately, that is not how it turned out. This review will serve as a reminder of why we won't be back...there are way better places within a 10 minute drive. Even if it is the most affordable AYCE around, it's not worth it for me. The good: - Chicken teriyaki had a pleasant grill taste and a hint of sauce - The sushi was tasty, but the rice underneath seemed a bit fresh and messy - the Maki was not too bad The bad: - Miso soup just ok, tasted primarily of green onions. - Shrimp Tempura was cold when it got to the table - The chicken skewers are unlike any that I have ever tasted before - Asian spicy beef just tasted like plain beef and onions, no sauce discernable - The wakame salad was visibly dry and old - Sesame chicken was cold and had a soggy texture kind of being previously fried and then reheated, tasted more of hp sauce and vinegar - The spicy/crispy Maki rolls were soggy, almost damp I requested a piece of avocado sushi, It didn't come. So I requested it again and received underripe avocado chopped and wrapped in seaweed - the picture shows sliced, fanned avocado on rice with no seaweed.

I've been to all the sushi places in Toronto and Ottawa. This particular location of banc sushi is incredible. The food was the freshest I've had, made with care and delivered to my table in a very reasonable pace. They have some dishes I've been looking for for a while and they nailed them perfectly. They also go above and beyond, as I saw them giving out roses to all the couples during the height of service in the evening. Their beverage menu is inclusive with a far better choice of drinks that come with your dinner all you can eat menu than I've seen before. An example would be that vanilla ice cream coke floats are included... That's a milestone for the industry that normally charges a minimum for having a basic beverage. The washrooms are clean, the atmosphere is friendly. The only thing I don't like is the yellow lighting. After a bit I found it was actually bothering my eyes, let alone it kills all pictures being taken. This is by far the best I've had, treat yourself here.

Wow what happened to this place? This place has really gone downhill. Used to love it and it was one of the top places to go. Its now a place I will no longer visit. When did this happen? I last came less than a year ago and it was awesome. Not anymore.

Where to start, almost every single order that came out was wrong, from the noodles not being the right kind, to the spicy of anything being only regular, they missed a few items we ordered, they added some items we didnt even order. I really dont understand it, theres a tablet that takes the order down and there were maybe 3-4 other tables in the restaurant seated (not busy at all).

So on top of this the guy never asked what we wanted to drink (usually thats first, any other sushi place you go to). Did not bring any of the sauces or wasabi/ginger we had to ask for everything and felt like nags for having to do it, the guy was rude and clearly did not want to be there. He was talking to his buddy the entire time and never came back to our table to ask us for anything. I can understand having a bad day but at that point let someone else do it, the place was not busy in the least and we werent asking for anything special or outside the ordinary.

The food was cold, stale as one of the other reviewers put before me, its true. I felt like some of it was made hours before. Not fresh. Also the amount of rice was staggering, everything that came out was very poorly executed, every roll was much bigger than they used to be and felt like they were almost doing it on purpose as to just make everyone fill up on the cheap stuff.

Ive gone to alot of restaurants in my day, and I am not normally picky, but this was the worst experience ive had out in a long time if not ever... I am not normally one to write reviews either but I really think people need to know - this place is no longer the place it used to be. I felt so awkward and disgusted being there, it completely ruined my day and my mood. I didnt have the heart to just walk out but honestly I should have. Please save your hard earned money and take it elsewhere. You’ve been warned. Extremely...

for me this is the worst establishment in Ottawa! service, serving, food.... the feeling that you owe them, and not they must accept and serve you... the establishment is open according to the schedule until 10, we came at exactly 9, or even a couple of minutes earlier. they started setting conditions for us from the door (surprised, this was the first time in my life such an Asian reception) and the truth was alarming ... but we were very tired and hungry, my husband did not want to go anywhere else ... at first they forgot to bring us a menu but did not forget to ask when we will order, while counting the minutes until the kitchen closes ;) we ordered 5 types of rolls, salad and noodles with seafood! almost all rolls with the same filling (crab stick with cucumber) under different entourage of sauces, types of cucumber cutting and sprinkles... the salad was even more strange called "Crab"! one crab stick, maybe not even whole... broken into three pieces, a couple of lettuce leaves, a piece of tomato and sauce (I think it was from leftover vegetables. the size of half a bowl, well, very miniature)... and noodles in addition with with so much glutamate and salt that the aftertaste lasts for three hours... I also fed the child with all this, because she had been dreaming about sushi for a long time 🤢 now I'm nervous... well, the observation of all the staff as we eat it surpassed everything! it reminded me of movies about prisons with their guards from every corner. .. the feeling that if we don't eat it and get out of here as soon as possible, we will be left in slavery or worse. I was scared and left the tip 🤑to return to God's world... the waitress told us how tired they were and to clean up after us, but for some reason she didn't ask how much we worked and whether we were tired?! we flew out of this room, although at first glance I liked the place... my husband is very undemanding, but he also noted that unpleasant feelings remained from everything... and this happened to us for the first time in our life😔 I hope there will be no...

This is my this third time going and I definitely won't be going back now. First time I went was my first experience with sushi and I was pleasantly surprised and it got me hooked on sushi. But I've since tried other places and this place definetly ranks at the bottom. BUT they have a great selection and it's all you can eat, which is the appeal.

That said, went there today and went to the bathroom as soon as I arrived. The floor to walk there was slippery from grease, like last time I went (I had forgotten but definitely had a flash back). Gross. Made me question the cleanliness of their kitchen and I almost walked out right then. The bathroom is absolutely horrible. Needs a coat of paint for one thing as it's full of graffiti but also there was a big puddle of water on the floor, which is dangerous. I informed a member of staff when I got out. 2 hours later I go back to the bathroom and the same puddle is still there so they didn't even bother to go check. The robot also looked like it needed a good scrub.

Food wise, it was particularly bland today. We got a plate of chow mein and it was grey and super unappetizing. The sushi was alright but didn't taste super fresh although I very much enjoyed the spicy salmon sushi cones. There were 4 of us and we were left quite disappointed. It was a very busy night but that's no excuse for quality. Service was also poor; we were missing parts of our order and getting refills on water was challenging. Again, I understand it's busy but it's Saturday night and should be expected so bring in more staff.

I really try not to bash businesses generally and try to focus on positives but I really feel that this place needs a makeover in cleanliness...
