Nothing could have prepared me for this spot. This is the BEST bubble tea you will have in Ottawa. Every-time we have a drink, we go back for more. Their tea is all brewed, not that powder bs and I’d highly suggest topping all your drinks with yummy cheese mouse. If you get the tea only drinks in the “cheese tea” section of the menu, it might taste too strong and fragrant so I always always always buy from the “MILK tea” section and top it with the cheese foam. The milk balances out the delicious fragrances of the tea and results in the most authentic milk tea flavours you may ever taste. Their black and white boba pearls are both delicious and I alternate between the two. I highly recommend black Ceylon milk tea, oolong milk tea, and the watermelon slush (all with cheese mouse). Literally my only complaint is that it’s 1. On the pricier end of bubble tea (but I get real tea) , 2. There is nowhere to lounge with friends. This is a take out spot. And 3. The drinks are so small! I’m begging please please please for bigger drinks I’ll buy them all 🙏 Addicted is an understatement.

I’ve been going to Sip Tea for years. I believe it’s time I finally wrote them a review! First of all, the place is really small with a nice white design layout but it doesn’t accommodate much space for seating. I’ve always had good customer service from the Merivale location. The two girls whom served me were helpful when I asked them to recommend drinks on the less sweet side. I did notice once I finished my order, their debit machine aggressively prompted me with a tipping option. The regular size bubble tea costed me a little over 8 dollars, which is not worth it in my opinion. Another thing I noticed is the workers appeared to break into laughter immediately after I paid and patiently wait for my drink. I’m not sure what’s so funny about a normal customer ordering a matcha milk tea with cheese foam. Any who, I found the Shizuoka Matcha Milk Tea to be too sweet for my liking despite getting the lowest sugar percentage at 30%. The cheese foam diluted that strong matcha flavour I was looking for.

Great little bubble tea place in Merivale. It is sort of hidden in a small plaza which makes it a little difficult to find. Despite that they have a minimalistic all white design which makes the small store appear bigger. They have cute little touches such as an led lamp and a sip poster made out of cups. They don’t have a huge menu like most bubble tea places which I actually liked, it made the decision process a lot easier. We ended up getting the matcha tea with cheese mouse and the brown sugar tea. The matcha green tea was interesting, it had a very unique taste to it but the cheese mouse was delicious. The brown sugar tea was really good, the only thing I didn’t like was that you could only lower the sugar to 50%. In addition to bubble tea they also had some pastries. Unfortunately none were gluten free so we were not able to try them. Overall it was a good experience and I would say it is worth a try if your in the area.

It's sad to give only two stars to this place because I went back after trying their Jasmine milk tea which was delicious. To start off, I always get my bubble tea with less sugar so I can actually taste the tea. Siptea's 'less sugar' is still very sweet so if you are someone like me, I advise you to get it with no sugar at all. This is not a big deal. Now, I had a poor experience tonight. First off, the employee taking the order was whispering and so I could barely even understand her. I had to stick my ear towards her mouth to be able to hear her. She also couldn't speak/understand English confidently so I had to repeat myself over and over again which was frustrating. I asked for tapioca perals and my drink didnt have any. Turns out she forgot or didn't (who knows) add them into my order, and they didn't even have pearls in the first place. If I had known they did not have pearls I wouldn't have gotten anything at all because I drink bubble tea for the pearls. All in all, their tea is good but the service isn't great. No offense but the person who is taking the order should speak up and at least have a working knowledge of English to be able to take the orders properly and to communicate and interact with customers. I was so sure that this would be my go to bubble tea place first time I tried it, but I'm not so sure if I will be back anymore. Bubble tea place or any kind of restaurants really, is not just about the quaity of the food but also about...
