Over this summer I came in with my coworker. During the summer we went to this cafe about every week day at lunch time and my coworker would order an over 20 dollar sandwich every time . After going in everyday for over a month I decided to treat myself to one of their cookies (overpriced). I was first in line yet the cashier repeatedly would skip me over and let the next person order instead of me. I let it slide at first thinking it was just a mistake. I wasnât upset at all because I could understand maybe he thought I was just waiting with my coworker for her food. Finally the third time around I had said âexcuse me, Iâm nextâ he looked OVER me purposefully looking past me to let the next costumer (who had just walked in) order. She politely motioned over to me letting him know I was first in line. He then reassured her and said it was okay and she can order. I got extremely upset but I didnât say anything because I didnât want to be rude. After she finally ordered he got to me, (three people have now gone ahead of me) he never said sorry or said he didnât see me (even though I was standing right infront of the cash). He completely ignored the fact I had been waiting for around ten minutes when I had been first in line. I bought my cookie (5 dollars by the way) just to find out it was raw on the inside and disgusting. After paying he even had the nerve to turn the reader around for me to give a tip. I know people can have bad days sometimes but truly the experience was not at all enjoyable. Especially since I had seen him everyday for basically the whole summer, and my coworker and I would spend a significant amount of...
Read moreGreat coffee and breakfast. In fact, the breakfast is TOO good a deal - way too much food, doesnât fit on a table for two. They should dial that back a bit, didnât need the 2 pancakes on top of everything else. Best deal is the breakfast panini and coffee. Still new and a few teething problems - very pleasant and accommodating staff but often seem over-worked - I have been there 3 times in the last week (and will keep returning). Server forgot my toast but quickly corrected it. Brought my dishes back to the counter, the guy saw me holding them but just continued making the cappuccino instead of taking them from me. Ordering at the counter takes WAY too long (but itâs worth it in the end). These are just bugs I hope the owner will work out - looks like he watches these reviews - but we have recommended the joint to all our friends. Might try to figure out a way to refill your coffee - maybe charge extra up front if necessary rather than keep returning to buy coffee after coffee. Great neighbourhood way to start a Saturday or...
Read moreIâve lived in the neighbourhood for seven years and somehow never tried it. What a mistake. I went in for coffee and breakfast and left so satisfied. The place is very cute and nicely decorated on the inside. The front of house staff (a young gentleman) was quick to greet me although he was busy preparing orders. I watched as he served up drinks and food with a smile and great customer service. I ordered an Americano, a croissant breakfast sandwich and am the pulled pork sandwich for my husband. The coffee was great full of flavour and the croissant sandwich was out of this world amazing. The croissant was toasted nicely, the generous Brie was melted and the egg seemed freshly made. Also the bacon was nicely cooked not too fatty or chewy. Husband said the pulled pork panini had a nice outter crunch and was good. Will definitely come...
