Good, 24-hour location with a drive through. All-day breakfast and all-day burgers! The dining room is only open during certain hours (unsure but possibly something like 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.); at night, you have to have a car and go through the drive through. If you are coming from the Conroy / St. Laurent end of Walkley, keep right at the fork to go down Heron (rather than continue down Walkley), as it is closer to the Heron side of the Herongate Plaza.

The drive through is sometimes quite slow, depending on how many cars are ahead of you and what they ordered. For some reason, A & W doesn't seem to ask cars that are holding up the line to drive forward to park & have their order brought out to them when ready.

Vegetarians rejoice! A & W has what is, in my opinion, the most delicious fast food veggie burger. It comes loaded with veggie toppings on a sturdy bun. I recommend asking them to add chipotle sauce to it, as that makes it taste 20x better than it already is.

Their onion rings are super flavourful and not just dipped in flour! They add spices, salt & black pepper to the batter to flood your tastebuds with waves of deliciousness. They're super crispy and thick and are even a different colour than your typical onion rings (more of an amber-like shade of brown rather than a blah and mushy light brown).

Unlike some locations, this one offers the A & W apple pie / turnover that's coated in cinnamon sugar. It's super messy but delicious. I recommend eating it outdoors or over a sink, so definitely don't let your kid eat one in the car.

When ordering a breakfast sandwich on a burger bun, make sure to specify that you want that or they will assume that you want it on an english muffin. They are quick to correct any mistakes and are friendly...

Had the worst experience in my life. I have been a regular customer at this a&w for years. Extreme heat wave… phone was dead my power out at home near by. Im type 1 diabetic my blood sugar was low needed I came to sit down for a few minutes to charge my phone amd see what sugary item I could buy to get my blood sugar up.She gave me the very dirtys looks the minute I even step foot in the door… She said you can’t be in here using wifi for free and charging here without a purchase. No empathy. As I was about to explain my situation, but I thought you know what I don’t owe this narcissistic woman a explanation for literally sitting down for a second….Yet there’s a homeless person sitting on the other side of restaurant and she lets him stay. No consideration? I was thinking of buying something too shortly. And she just turned me off with her evil manor. So I said hell no I’m going somewhere else where I’m not being called out as she is racist with me as I’m darker skinned. Seems to be nicer with people of only her race I guess…Whoever is in charge of being her manager contact me please this via email. I want to make a big compliant and report of this woman. Her approach was very disgusting. Stank attitude seems like if you want your order to be fixed or done right too.. seems like she tends to not help people when it’s reported to her that people’s got charged wrong or their food wasn’t cooked raw. My Dad brought me here for the first time today and I was amazed! Keep in mind, it is very difficult to impress me with food to the point where I rate it 5 stars, so let me describe the experience...

Very clean restaurant, friendly staff and I just love how unique the presentation of the fries and drink are. We both got the Teen Burger combo since we had coupons and the burgers were perfect! I could see the natural cheese that fully wrapped around the Burger patty which complimented by a generous amount of other toppings and assembled in a way you'd see in a commercial. The A&W Root beer we all know and love is outstanding as always but the freezer chilled mug in the glass took it to a whole new level. Finally, the fries were crispy, really hot, and served in this deep frying basket as a unique presentation so bonus points there. After you're done eating, there is a corner where you can place your mug and basket into a plastic container that slides into the kitchen on a rolling rack, garbage disposal, and your tray goes right on top. Close to there, are also all your condiments and a baby chair area as well as sinks to wash your hands without needing to go into the bathroom after you're done eating. The menu has lots of variety from vegetarian, chicken and breakfast so there's something here for everyone.

To conclude, I've been to A&W's before but nothing like this before and I'm very impressed, I will definitely be coming back here!...
