I was one of the ladies and I am addressing the issues yesterday evening Yes you told us we would have to wait and yes we were willing to wait But we were not willing for you to be rude. Regarding your comment about the ordering of dishes we ordered enough food for all 5.Also as you know we had leftover so one of the ladies took home.So we ordered 3 main plus Nan and rice.we do not have big appetite but would have ordered more as needed. How can you as a restaurant owner accuse us of being cheap.we are ladies in our 60,s and do not have big appetites. Regarding the hot water 3 of us order hot water and just like any respectful and professional owner would not have said that we are charging for hot water with lemon. No restaurants charges for hot water in a cup. one of the ladies asked in a tea pot all you could have said can I bring it in a cup.But you very rudely said it will cost 2 dollars and we do not have labor to wash the dishes. After all this as a customer at this point we were all a little upset.we should have walked out but my friend really wanted to have dinner at Hidden Taste as they loved your food last time As for the condiment of onions we ordered if you had said at the time of placing the order their is a charge we would have gladly paid. Once the food arrived you served the food as is and not on the warmers and the food was cold.we ate and did not complain.regarding the condiment of onions I reminded very politely that can we have the onions you rudly informed us that it is 2 dollars .Believe me we have no problem paying but you went on to say that everything cost money .So did we not pay for our meal Did we eat FREE .You have assumed that we were cheap and that we wanted everything for free. As immigrants we understand that running a business is very difficult as I personally can attest to it as I have being in restaurant business for 38 years. But No Way we ever treated customers the way you did and you assumed we were cheap by the color of our skin.I grantee that you would never speak to those non brown customers the way you did to us and also ask them to pay for hot water.please be very mindfully of the way you talk to no white customers as Ottawa has a lot of ethics that will vist your restaurants. Regarding the food compliments to your husband.we wish all the best as being a immigrant in Canada for 50 years we know how hard you have to work.I also understand very well that customers are not always right but this incident was the most disappointing and disrespectfull. I for sure will not be coming with...

Read moreAs an ex-chef from a 3 Michelin star restaurant, I’m always particular about quality, balance, and flavor, and this place delivers every single time. I can’t say enough good things about Hidden Taste. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home rather than just another place to eat. The staff are so kind and genuinely care about making you comfortable, and the atmosphere has that family warmth that makes you want to linger a little longer.
As for the food, it’s honestly soul-nourishing. The butter chicken is rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced; it’s the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes with every bite. The chicken korma is another favorite, fragrant, and silky, it feels like comfort in a bowl. And of course, the biryani… it’s simply on another level. Aromatic, fluffy rice layered with tender chicken or shrimp and spices that taste like they’ve been perfected over generations.
Every meal here feels like a reminder of why I love Indian cuisine so much, it’s food that brings people together, food that feels like it was cooked with heart. Hidden taste has become my go-to spot for the past 3 and a half years, not just for dinner, but for moments when I want to feel at home....
