The Worst “Fast” Food Experience of My Life
KFC 1422 on Trim Road should seriously consider removing “fast” from its description. My experience there yesterday was nothing short of abysmal.
I arrived at around 5 PM, placed my order after a few minutes, and expected it to take 10–15 minutes tops, considering there were only three orders on the screen ahead of mine and no one at the drive through. Little did I know I was stepping into an unorganized chaos factory masquerading as a restaurant. After just a few minutes, I was informed that they ran out of tomatoes. Sad, but I took it as a sign that my order was on the way? How does a major fast-food chain fail to stock basic ingredients like tomatoes? To make matters worse, when I asked for cheese instead, I was told by the cashier that she’d never seen cheese OR tomatoes in her entire time working there. Pickles were my last resort.
As I waited, the dysfunction became apparent. Customers were visibly frustrated, employees scrambled aimlessly in the kitchen, and a customer finally leaving with her order (after a ridiculously long wait) was sarcastically congratulated by another as if released from jail. At this point, it had been about 25 minutes, and my clothes were already impregnated with the nauseating grease smell wafting through the store. Disgusted but patient, I went to check on my order. Shockingly, my food hadn’t even been started. Orders on the screen remained frozen in time, and the staff seemed incapable of handling even the smallest rush.
When I confronted the cashier about my order, her response was utterly insulting: “Oh, you came back.” What do you mean, came back? I never left. Her lack of urgency and careless attitude were infuriating. She turned to the kitchen and told them to “make my order quickly” as if I had been the one causing the delay. By now, I’d been waiting over 40 minutes for what should’ve been fast food, and my hunger turned to sheer anger.
When I tried to get her attention for a refund, she blatantly ignored me—until I was forced to yell to get any semblance of service. Finally, the manager appeared, only to tell me that I’d “only been waiting for 10 minutes.” At this point, it was clear the staff was either delusional or trained to gaslight customers. After demanding my refund, the manager handed over cash with a weak apology, clearly just to shut me up.
In total, I wasted nearly an hour at this disaster of a location. The lack of basic ingredients, untrained and careless staff, and appalling customer service are a disgrace to the KFC brand. This wasn’t just bad service, it was an insult to paying customers.
Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and avoid this place at all costs. If you want “fast food,” you’ll find it faster and with better service at literally any other establishment.
In total, I wasted an hour of my life at this pathetic excuse for a restaurant, an hour I’ll never get back, away from my family.

However it has been about 5 years since I have had KFC and we were planning this as a retro birthday party meal and thought "why not...I am quite sure it will be better than I remember". No No No. I knew it would be busy so I thought ahead, downloaded the app and pre ordered the meal about 2 hours ahead of time with a specific pick up time of 6:15 (which was the window of time offered). Let's start with picking it up. First, they could not find the order despite having the order reference number, secondly the other six people were apparently waiting for orders (which they had walked in an ordered...not preordered). When the KFC attendant was asked why we are still waiting 20 minutes late, the KFC attendant stated "they were here before you". There was no sense in protesting as clearly the concept of ordering ahead was completely lost on these folks. Fine....6:55 pm we happily skipped out of KFC order in hand. The order was pretty simple, an 18 piece bucket with the "large sides". The "large" sides would be large enough if everyone were to have a tablespoon each as this is supposed to be a meal for 7-9 people....yah, no. Secondly, Who would think to put the fries (which are in a soft box) underneath the sides (which were much heavier in their little bowl cartons). If you guess the KFC Professional - you got it. And yes, they were crushed and had to be physically pulled apart and reheated in an air fryer to make them looking anything like what were once happy fries. KFC on Trim Road - I have no idea who manages this location but it is clear that customer service and satisfaction are the least of their concern. KFC has had good marketing over the years and manages to remain in business somehow, and this location benefits from that marketing.
And now for the chicken... Have you ever tried to stuff a large pillow in a small pillow case? Now, picture the KFC Professional gingerly stuffing the 18 pieces of chicken into a bucket that likely is meant to hold 12 pieces. The coagulated mass of breading, bones, and cooked chicken flesh at the bottom of the bucket was completely unidentifiable. I had no idea what part of the bird any of this came from. It just resembled some sort of cooked mass that could be separated into some odd shape of something apparently edible.
Shameful waste of $70. You...
Read moreso i placed an order on the store last weekend on the website my order through but i noticed i put in the wrong address so i called customer service they said they can put me to the store to get my right address. i called the store to tell them i made a mistake and there response was contact the Uber or skips driver to tell him that my address was wrong. i told them i did not order on skip nor Uber eats then the guy on the phone told me they do not have a way to contact the driver what kind of restaurant does not have the driver contact so basically i lost my food at this point i just want my money back at this point so i call customer service again they said they do not give refunds i will have to call the store to get my money back.i called the store again and the lady i spoke to was not very helpful she gave the phone to he manager he said i will have to email there other manger JUST FOR A REFUND! and hung up on me. I called the store back same lady pick up the phone she said she will call me back up to this day she never called me back i still haven't gotten my money back yet...
