So, I would like to start off by saying that I used to be (key words are used to) a loyal Li's Fusion customer since they pretty much opened in Orleans.
Unfortunately over the years their food quality and customer service has SERIOUSLY gone down hill. I'm not sure if they got different management, different food suppliers, a bit of column a and a bit of column b... or what exactly it is, but it is NOT the restaurant that it started out being all those years ago. Aside from the food sometimes being a completely different dish than it was a few years ago (for example the Sam See Chow Mein), to the lower quality meat that they are using, to the massive amounts of MSG that sometimes give me gut-rot... their Customer Service has completely tanked and tonight was the final straw.
I'm a single woman, living on my own on a tight budget, so I don't get the opportunity to seriously treat myself very often, but growing up in Vancouver, I have a weakness for Asian Food, specifically Chinese. So when I found a restaurant serving "Ottawa-authentic Chinese Food", I was excited.
I called the restaurant tonight and placed an order for 4 dishes. It was going to cost me a little over $70, but that would have left me with LOTS of leftovers... so... economically it would have only been about $14 or so a meal... not terrible... So I gave into my craving.
I get that today is Valentine's Day so they're "busier than usual", but when I called just after 5:30 to place my order, they told me it was going to be about an hour to an hour and 15 minute wait (longer than their usual 45 minute to an hour wait) but that's to be somewhat expected, so... OK fine, good thing I called when I did (I thought).
I called the restaurant back at 7:20 asking where my food was because it STILL hadn't arrived yet... WELL past their hour and 15 minute max wait time that they told me. They didn't apologize for it being so delayed or offered any kind of condolence, all they said was "well it's a holiday so it's going to be a bit longer", but they made no attempt in letting me know my order was going to be delayed (they clearly have my number) and in fact made ME feel like I should be the one apologizing to them! with a "ya, ya... just have patience it will come" attitude...
So I asked where my food was now and they said that the driver left about 5 minutes ago with my food and should be there shortly. Not great, but ok fine... So, I googled how long it should take to drive and it should have taken about 7 minutes (call it 10 to be generous). So, I'm thinking my food is going to arrive momentarily... I call back 20 minutes later, we're about 7:40/45 for those keeping track as my order had STILL NOT ARRIVED!!!! and they didn't know where my order was or why it hadn't arrived yet, so I told them to just cancel it and to tell their driver to go back to their restaurant.... I ended up just ordering from McDonald's, yes their food is... McDonald's, but at least it's fast and I'm STARVING at this point!!!!
so much for a...
Read moreBeing Asian and living in Orleans sometimes I miss my dim sum. We definetly go to Li’s Fusion to help my Dim sum craving, I find their xiu mai and hakow very fresh and clean tasting. Their deep fried shrimp wonton is also a must. i enjoy the consistency of the staff and food. You come to see familiar faces... bonus the place is well decorated and clean.
To the person who post the review about the owners not sharing the tips... To me this sounds like a he said she said story, they probably did not take into consideration that all restaurants have different policies when it comes to tips and staff. I’ve never seen a franchise restaurant receive a bad review due to tipping policies between owner and staff. For example I know for a fact that sometimes certain wait staff in franchises (example BP) do not bring all the tips home and must split with other staff thus risking taking money from their own pocket if tip targets aren’t met properly. In this case the reviewer did not that into consideration that the owners may also be the wait staff/dishwasher/ bus boy and etc. Also to be clear I do not know the whole story either.... I just hate seeing ppl giving 1 star reviews to local restaurants for odd reasons (outside spectra of customer service quality, decor, cleanliness and...
Read moreReally good overall. Ordered take out and picked it up. The lady on the phone was super nice. Very easy to talk with, let me know I qualified for the free chicken fried rice. Told me it was going to be ready in half an hour and it was.
Food quality was really high in my opinion. Not oily even though we ordered quite a few fried items. Shanghai noodles were very nice, could of used a little more flavor but honestly very very good regardless. The chicken balls were moist, not dry chicken. Chicken fried rice was tasty and the dumplings in spicy peanut sauce were a fun first try item.
I'll be back for sure. Good price, beats lucky star's prices.
This is a sit down restaurant when you walk in though. It's a very nice place.
I'm taking off a star because when I went in the manager was doing her paperwork at the table and the 2 back tables were filled with employees coats and it just through me off... it gave me an odd first impression... Keep your business separate please. Tables are...
