Lokma (Bank Street) — Restaurant in Ottawa

Have been here twice. Once the place was packed and another time empty. Both times it took 10-15 min to get our order. Way too slow and way too hot in there. Not that the staff aren't working. They're constantly moving and doing things behind the counter. They are either slow, under staffed, or process is inefficient. We have tried sundaes, shakes, and the mini donuts - twist and milkyway. The sundaes suck for their price. They are soft serve with chocolate or caramel sauce. They are huge but for $7-$9 not worth it. The shakes are a little better but still not worth it. The donuts are a different story $10 for 12 mini pieces. Great size. Great for sharing. Like a beaver tail but bite size. The twist one is just okay but the milky way is awesome. Likely not going back but may order the donuts with a food delivery app because don't have the patience for the...

Their menu is confusing and the cashier starts giving attitude and gives the wrong change back to me after I ordered nutella banana and thinking it was explosion, since the words are all over the place, and I asked her aren’t there strawberries and she just keeps telling me there isn’t, like it’s pretty straight forward to know what im talking about and you could just inform me and let me know that’s not the same food and she says “I’m not gonna deal with your shit” like I told her I came at her with a nice manner but she wanted to talk disrespectfully I asked to speak to a manager but she was all alone working, slow as hell, in the beginning of my order there were 3 workers not even moving or working. Changed my review from 5 to 3 stars. Recently I've noticed a decrease in the quality and quantity you now get. The lokma themselves are much smaller now, box doesn't even weigh the same it used to when I'd get a medium. Also, being charged extra for crunchy pistachio topping but they don't actually include the crunchy topping.

Original review from 3 years ago: Ordered the explosion and deluxe Nutella (small) which had cream inside the pastry balls. The small portions can easily be shared between two people, at least for me given that it’s very rich and sweet. Wait time was about 15 minutes but I think this is due to the fact that they make the pastry balls fresh so you get them nice and hot. Strawberry slices were a bit thin and I would’ve liked more but that’s my only complaint. Can’t wait to...
