Maverick's Donuts, Stittsville — Restaurant in Ottawa

On Oct 31 I showed up to the store around 520 pm. The website hours said the store was open to 6 pm. The doors had been locked. An employee came to the door. I asked why the doors had been locked so early. She said they locked the doors to close up for the day. I can understand 5-10 minutes before closing or if they had been sold out but this wasn't the case. The store was not sold out of donuts and they didn't say it was closed early for Halloween. I emailed the owner that night explaining what had happened. I also called the following business day and left a message with an employee. As of Nov 8th the owner has not returned my call or email. All I wanted to know if this was an error or typical policy for the store. If this is typical I just wanted to know when the doors are not generally locked. As a customer I don't think it's unreasonable to ask clarification questions in these types of situations. I highly suggest calling the store first to make sure the doors...

Delicious vegan donuts IF you're lucky to get them.

Went an hour before close to grab some vegan donuts. They were actively restocking their non-vegan ones, and they already had loads, whereas they only had 4 vegan ones left with no more coming. I essentially "cleared them out" by taking the last 4, so anyone coming after me would've been S.O.L. I've also been the customer who shows up and they're out of vegan ones even though it's not close to closing time yet. I don't understand why the company advertises vegan donuts yet they don't actually keep enough in stock to last them the day. If a customer comes in with the expectation that there is a product they can buy, and they show up only to learn that the product isn't available, it's frustrating, disappointing, and will dissuade the customer from coming back. It's too bad bc the donuts themselves are hella good and I'd be happy to throw more money at the company if, idk, they had more donuts I could actually buy in the...
