TL;DR : bad timing, unexperienced/unorganized staff, cold food. My partner and I have specific dietary preferences/restrictions and we chose that restaurant based on the options available on their menu. We went on a Saturday evening and made sure to reserve ahead of time to ensure we get a table and avoid wait time since we had to drive over an hour to get back home after. We got to the restaurant on time, yet we had to wait 5 minutes just to get to the host desk. People ahead of us were having trouble with their reservation and we saw a family leave before they could have a table, then a small group of people with a cake do the same. When our turn came and I gave my name, we were told that, like others before us, there was an issue with the timing of our reservation and our table was not free yet. The hostesses looked helpless and had to refer their manager for questions. Manager was called to rush the clients to vacate the table (?!?), then about 10 minutes later, we were seated. Our server was really nice and brought water rapidly. He replied to our questions about the menu and made sure to ask about allergies. Food came in really quickly. But we had to call the server back because we didn't have utensils. Floor manager brought them quickly, and apologized. My meal was good, but my partner's vegetarian tacos were cold. Not even lukewarm: cold. We did not return the food, seeing how the staff seemed overwhelmed after the arrival of a large loud group. We ordered dessert and it came quickly again, with apologies from the server because he couldn't find a clean knife for my partner's churro ice cream sandwich, which proved challenging to eat without. We asked for a knife when he stopped by again to check on us and he was able to find one. Throughout my visit, I noticed that the server was overly engaged in conversation with my companion, paying an unusual amount of attention to them while neglecting my own requests entirely. Despite my attempts to get their attention, it was clear that I wasn’t being acknowledged or prioritized.
I expect a high level of professionalism and attention to all guests, and this experience fell short of that standard. I hope this feedback is helpful and that future visits are more balanced and respectful to all members of a party.
When the server realized I was displeased, he asked a female colleague to bring our dessert. However, she approached with a noticeably unfriendly look and placed the dessert on the table in a way that suggested something negative had been said about me. This only added to the discomfort of the situation, making me feel that my concerns were neither acknowledged nor respected.
Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, their behavior only served to frustrate me further, almost as if there was a coordinated effort to upset the customer. I’m certain that the owner of this business wouldn’t want customers to feel this way.
It was disappointing to experience this level of unprofessionalism from multiple members of the staff. I hope that, moving forward, all guests receive the attentive and respectful service they deserve, regardless of any personal dynamics.

Read moreMy wife and I had dinner on November 8th again and our waiter Leanne enchanted us with her friendliness and smile. She was also very knowledgeable with new items on the menu that were amazing. We especially loved the vessel sprouts with pancetta bacon and miso sauce. What I find astounding I'd how this particular Moxie's is able to attract, train and retain such high quality personnel. We have never had the same waiter/waitress but they were always amazing! Kudos to the management. The food is always fantastic with new additions that surprise us always.
We had dinner with my wife for 3 days straight from Monday to Wednesday. August 28th to the 30th 2023. The meals were amazing and the service second to none. Especially Wednesday where we reserved by an amazing waiter Leo. Leo exemplifies all the best traits of a server a host made he made us feel comfortable he was attentive knowledgeable and made our dinner experience superb!
Sep 11 2024 update: It is unfortunate that I cannot document every new positive experience here at Moxie's because I could write a novel. It is still number one in my wife's and my books. We have tried practically every single dish on the menu and every time it is an amazing experience. The Tuna poke bowl is divine the grilled chicken zen bowl scintillating and the curro with ice cream desert is heavenly! Every soup we tried is a culinary delight. I can go on and on... Today we were not only impressed by the dishes we ordered and the impeccable service but also how the senior waiter Leo was coaching and training a new waitress Cynthia who was serving us.
