TL;DR poor service, salty or chewy food, bad seating layout, overpriced for no reason Came here with a friend in between movies at the nearby theatre. We figured you can't go too wrong with sushi, right? We were wrong. Unrelated to the food, the door was so heavy that I think it might be a safety hazard 😆 Anyway, we were greeted by some guy who repeatedly told us that AYCE was $33/person but a la carte was take out only. My friend and I settled on eating there and they gave us a booth right near their trays and kitchen. Every time they would put something down it would hit our backs. We couldn't move to the other side of the table as it would have blocked a path for the waiters and someone was sitting at the table behind. The same guy "taught" us how to use the iPad with a very quick and braisen explanation. I've been to 168 Sushi though so I know how to use it. We ordered some food which took some time getting to us. The waiters and waitresses did not have friendly service (they didn't even look at us or say anything after we thanked them for the food). The quality of the food was not good. The Har gow tasted like plastic, the eggplant was super salty, the galbi was chewy and came in an odd number (3pc), the eel was so thin on the rolls...I could go on. I asked another waiter for sriracha and spicy mayo but he seemed confused what I wanted...anyway, we did order more food however I didn't even bother taking pictures of it. I understand with COVID things are rough but if you're going to charge (after tax) $37.30 per person then you need to bring the quality...which they did not. Also, make sure you bring cash or card cause they don't have tap. I personally won't be going here again. Much better sushi places around

There are many pros and cons at this place. A big pro is that the sushi rice is thin so you get a lot more actual food and taste compared to other sushi buffets around Ottawa where they pad sushi with thick rice to fill you up. The sushi itself also tastes very good, and they have quite a wide variety. Now on to the negatives. The avocado is often browning and clearly not that fresh. The toppings like salmon on red dragon rolls or avocado on green dragon rolls are very small/cheaped out. They charge weekend prices on Fridays. It’s about 40.80$ per person after tax right now. They have a mandatory tip for groups sized 6+ of 18%. It is very hard to flag down waiters. It is very busy/loud and probably wouldn’t make the best date night experience. I really love the sushi and I don’t mind paying a premium price for it knowing I eat a lot, but I caution those who aren’t like me.

The pictures are not a good representation of what you actually get. I would say it's borderline false advertising. If you like heating Maki rolls it's a great place but if you show up between lunch and dinner and they charge you $25 for at best mediocre food. I would go somewhere else. Went there with a friend that didn't like rawfish, so they ordered non Sushi items from the menu. One of the photos was grilled red like a like a baguette. When it was served it was a hot dog bun with butter on it not even grilled. It was so bad that I called the manager over and asked him if he would order a hot dog bun at a sushi restaurant. He said he would and I said well next time you should just offer as hotdogs to go with the bun. I was trying to make light of the bad experience. Lesson from this is if you don't like raw fish and probably shouldn't go to a sushi restaurant.

I have always been a regular customer at ten sushi, they serve very good food but they’re known for the worst customer service and I am sure a lot will agree with me on this. Today My friends and I decided to go dine in at 1:30 PM. We usually dine in after 5:00 pm. Anyways we started ordering from the iPad, and we right away noticed a lot of the things you would order when it’s dinner time are missing and we didn’t think anything of it, we just assumed that they’re going to charge us what they would normally charge for lunch and because it’s technically lunch time. Surprisingly when it was time to pay, the bill came up to $36 each and we were confused, so we called the waiter over and explained that the iPad was set to lunch menu, and you are charging us for dinner although we didn’t have dinner options on the iPad. The waiter than started playing with the iPad and claimed that it was dinner menu all along we just didn’t see it, also mentioned they don’t have the lunch menu anymore and honestly we wouldn’t know since we always go late, so we thought they still do lunch and the menu was that we had to choose from was the lunch menu they used to have from before. So not a lot of options on the lunch because they used to charge less on lunch. We asked for at least a 10% discount because we didn’t get to enjoy any of the dinner options but that was denied and the waiter said he doesn’t know how to do discounts and no one around knows, we requested to speak to the manager or owner or anyone else other than this waiter but it was the same waiter up in our faces just refusing to listen, instead we had to deal with how unprofessional he was being and how poorly trained he was. Not to mention the waiter was being very rude and aggressive to the point where staff gathered around our table and people behind us stood up to watch what was happening because his voice was very loud he was literally shouting at us for disagreeing with him and was acting as if we were at fault instead of apologizing and owning up to his mistake for not changing the menu to dinner menu on the iPad. My friends and I did mention that we were going to leave a review on him because the way he behaved is going to be the reason we wont come back to this location anymore. he happily and proudly spelled out his name, it was Edward I believe. In case he lied about his name he is the Tallest waiter and the only one with glasses on. It was very hard to convince him of anything or to even have a conversation with him because he had no communication skills and just failed to listen or provide an solutions instead only shouts at customers and tries to blame them for his own mistakes. We ended up paying in full as if we had dinner but we didn’t because it was set to lunch menu. Very terrible experience today and we won’t come back to this location or ten sushi at all for that. We rather go to 168 sushi where they value and respect their customers at least. Mostly upset about how we were mistreated by staff, not that we had to pay for dinner or that we didn’t get to enjoy the dinner menu because they offered us...

This location (2300 City Park Drive, Ottawa). I arrived at 3:25PM to have a nice quite dinner, just myself. I entered this establishment at a quiet hour thinking I would get good service. I was not greated as a guested. I was asked to take a seat at the window by a tall man with glasses sweeping the floor holding the broom so I took myself to my table. I waited 5 minutes and the same tall came to my table handed me a small tablet and asked me if I want to drink something, I said yes please "diet coke" he then walked away leaving me to figure out the how to. In the entire 1hr, no one came over to my table to ask how was the food, if I needed anything (water, soft drink, etc), nothing however the tables with more than one person there was always someone in this restaurant asking if everything was OK and if they needed anything else. Not my table. I will not return here or recommend this particular place, not because of the food but because of the awful service. If I am walking in a restaurant and told how much I have to pay to eat in this place by the tall man with glasses holding the broom in his hands wnere I was not served as a paying customer and have to pay 20% for a tip for good service which it was terrible. I asked the tall man with glasses politely why no one including him did not come to my table to see if I need anything or how was the food or do I need a napkin where he laughed at me, walked away and returned to my table throwing a napkin on my table and saying to me "ANYTHING ELSE". I just answered and said "NO THANK YOU" and he waked away. It cost me $38.97 and was treated terribly. I started writing this at 3:45PM and finished at 4:59PM. Til now the only person who walked by was the manager watching write this post, knowing how his staff treated me and said nothing. I cannot recommend this place. There are others in Ottawa where you pay what ever the cost but the food and service is exception. I like to pay for both.

I did not even risk asking for a second order, I just paid the...

Its sad that I have to give this place a 1 star or even 0 because I used to love eating here.

They deserve a low rating for the following reasons: I paid $177 for 4 people with 10% tip, thats way too expensive considering one person didn’t eat at all and I got scolded by the manager in public. They raised their prices from $25 to $36 per person which is super expensive for a family of 3-4 on a weekday. I could only imagine how expensive it is on a weekend. If you’re coming with a friend who isn’t eating, they wont be allowed to come into the restaurant. My friends and I came from the movie theatre to eat dinner, she sat down drank an iced tea and drove home. I got charged an extra 36 dollars and the manager yelled saying he’d be “losing money” if he didn’t charge me for the person that literally ate nothing. The waiters are hard to flag down. We wanted forks for the rice, tempura sauce for the tempura along with other things, but they took forever to bring us the requested items and seemed very cold and distant. The portion sizes are extremely small. You order one sushi at a time instead of two like how it should normally be at a sushi restaurant. The thumbnails of the dishes on the ipad aren’t anywhere near close to how the actual food looks. It takes a long time to receive your food, which is strange considering they make you order one piece of sushi at a time. There is no parking, its always crammed packed full.

The only positive aspect about this place is the food, it tastes good, specifically the fried bananas, but its not even located on the dessert portion of the menu which makes 0 sense to me.

I wont be coming again here anymore solely because of the rude manager and the lack of customer service. Save yourself the money and go to the East Side...
