Like a few people on here I was hesitant due to the reviews. I moved to Kanata 2 years ago and have been searching for a Chinese food restaurant that isn't incredibly bland. I am happy to say that I've finally found that place! Dinner arrived in 17 minutes, the delivery girl was extremely pleasant and I got a free fried rice. I'd also recommend ordering directly from the restaurant and not through any Skip, Ubereats, or any other app.
It sounds like a lot of these reviews come down to personal preference. Here's my take:
The chicken fried rice was perfect fresh and soft, not hard at all. Not salty, perfectly seasoned with no need to crack open any soy sauce The chop suey was perfectly cooked, with ample amount of chicken breast. Chicken balls were crispy outside, soft inside, great dough to chicken ratio. Sauce is kind of too thick on almond guy ding and chicken and broccoli (but would order again anyways)
All that to say, I'm never ordering from another place in Kanata South again, I've finally found my...
Read moreWe used Skip the Dishes and ordered 6 spring rolls, veggie fried rice, Kung pao chicken, General Tso chicken and Szechuan beef noodles. I had to google how to spell Szechuan, I screwed it up so bad my phone didn’t even bother trying to autocorrect it.
Anyway. The food was great! Happy with the portions and the flavours. Spring rolls were the best I’ve had in this city (not that I’m some sort of connoisseur). It came with this tangy sweet and sour sauce that was really good. It easily fed three of us for supper, and we had enough for lunch the next day.
The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because there wasn’t a ton of chicken in the kung pao. There was lots of vegetables, which was great, but compared to the General Tso, there was probably 1/3 of the meat.
To top it off, the fortune in my fortune cookie literally said “you are a wonderful person”, which inflated my ego and caused my wife to roll her eyes in disgust.
Will order...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience with my recent order from Ting's Kitchen through Uber Eats. The Pad Thai and Thai Fried Rice I ordered were both of very poor quality, to the extent that they were inedible and had to be thrown away.
To resolve the issue, I initially contacted the restaurant to request a refund, as that was where I had placed my order. However, I was informed that the approval for the refund needed to come from Uber Eats because I had ordered through their platform. This has added to my frustration, as it feels like a convoluted process for something that should have been more straightforward.
I am genuinely disappointed with this entire experience, and I regret to say that I won't be ordering from this restaurant in the future due to the poor food quality and the complexity of the...
