The restaurant has taken a nosedive in recent times. The food quality has plummeted to a point where it's simply horrible, and unfortunately, the same can be said for their customer service.
Despite giving this place multiple chances, the consistent letdowns in both the quality of the dishes and the customer service have left me with no desire to return.
As echoed in numerous reviews, the process of ordering through the phone is utterly pointless. Not only are you forced to wait in line alongside people who didn't place an order, but you also end up having to repeat your order, adding to the frustration. The wait time of 20+ minutes further tests your patience, making the experience even less enjoyable.
The ambiance at the Vanier location is far from ideal. The kitchen smoke and uncomfortable heat create an environment that's far from pleasant. Waiting for your food inside results in leaving the place sweaty and smelling like food. Oddly, this issue seems to be absent at the downtown location, leaving me to question the consistency in their standards.
While the food does possess a unique flavor profile, it's overshadowed by the consistent poor quality and shockingly inconsistent portion sizes. The price, coupled with the horrible customer service, makes it impossible to justify a return visit.
I strongly recommend that the management seriously reevaluates the direction the Vanier location is headed. Perhaps, focusing their efforts on maintaining the standards of the downtown branch would serve them better. It's a pity to see what was once a promising dining option turn into a disappointing and regrettable choice.

I initially called to place an order and was informed it would be ready in 30 minutes. However, upon my arrival, the chaotic scene and exceedingly long lines indicated a severely disorganized operation.
The staff seemed uninformed and chaotic, initially claiming my order was ready but subsequently requesting that I place a new order, with an additional waiting time of 15-20 minutes. This contradiction and the subsequent ‘blablabla’ were not only frustrating but also reflected a concerning lack of transparency and clear communication, leading to an unnecessary and extended wait of 50 minutes.
Upon receiving my order, I discovered damaged packaging and spillage, as well as a complete disregard for my specific instructions regarding the spice level, rendering the food inedible. The overall decline in food quality and these unfortunate incidents resulted in the wastage of over $50.
I regretfully advise first-time seekers of African cuisine to avoid this location. I recommend the Dalhousie location instead, where the standards of service, food quality, and cleanliness are noticeably higher. This establishment has immense potential that is sadly being overshadowed by its poor management and unprofessional service.

I ordered over the phone, because unfortunately, we found out that the owner will turn off uber etas service whenever they are busy. So upon arrival at the place, you have to wait more than half an hour because the order was not prepared despite the pre-order on the phone. They will pretend to give you an order number over the phone but that means nothing and you need to order again personally.
Worst thing I experienced with them is when I called the first time and the person hung up before I could even finish to tell him what I want and I called the second time, then he hung up again. The person doesnt seem like he knows how to speak english fluently (which is acceptable) BUT you could tell that he DOESNT even make an effort to listen to you. I tried to call several times and the guy keeps picking up and hanging up while speaking with someone in the background. Then, he finally turn off their phone so I asked my friend to call the restaurant, and the staff answered and did the same thing to my friend.
