The Trap — Restaurant in Pelham

We tried the Trap today after hearing good things and seeing some tempting pictures. Firstly we were unable to order over the phone as they apparently took the phones off the hook. So we went in to order and were willing to wait around. The fries looked great, but tasted dense and cold when we got them, almost as if they were sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The onion rings were great. The pizza, we had high hopes for but we were quickly let down. The small kids pizza were tasteless and way too under cooked. The large pizza wasn’t much better, the crust was dense and thick, very heavy and not very flavourful. The toppings were a good amount, but similar to the small pizza, very undercooked. I used to dine here often when I worked in the area and always had great food and great service. I was here with a friend from out of town today for the Niagara Spring Show and this was the first place I thought of for a late lunch. Big mistake! We were served our drinks and that was the last we saw of our waitress even though she walked by numerous times serving other tables.... After 40mins we left and went to Mossimo's where the service was terrific and the food was tasty. So after talking up The Trap to my friend how great the food was it was pretty embarrassing the level of service we received. I would have liked to have rated the food highly once again this time, but I guess we will never know. I suspect there was more to the waitress' neglect, sometimes...

We ordered pizza and wings because of another 5 star review. $83 for 1 pizza and 40 wings is reasonable these days but when you're paying that amount of money for one meal it's very disappointing when the food isn't good. The pizza was undercooked, the cheese wasn't even melted in some spots. It tasted like a frozen pizza unfortunately. The wings (we got mild and medium) were somewhat better. They were the jumbo style but the sauce literally just tasted like Frank's Red hot. The staff were great and the other food coming out of the kitchen looked good. Also I would recommend confirming what you're ordering if doing takeout. The menu we were looking at said 2 pizzas came in the combo we ordered and found out it was only 1 pizza...
