UPDATED REVIEW - 2025 Edition!!
From ‘not cool’ to TOTALLY COOL!!
I am on here for another BP North review, because I remember our second last time there, and that I’d given a thoroughly negative review. I believe the manager provided us a credit and I think we did go back, though neither of us can recall. Life in the 60s decade. THAT’S what’s not cool!! lol
So tonight we went for an early dinner to take advantage of fewer people. It was a great decision!
Our server was Kim - can’t say enough - Kim is EXCELLENT - from hello to see ya, she’s just great! Our food was DELISH - really hot and perfectly cooked! Both our choices were really yummy. The starter salads were great too!!
But at the end of the day, or the end of the meal in this case, no matter how yummy the food is, if the service sucks, it ruins your meal.
Luckily for us, we had Kim! She’s so sweet, and funny, and fast, and intuitive, and someone you’d have to try really hard not to like! So thank you Kim - you’re a bright star - you’re a GREAT ambassador for the BP brand!! 🙏🏻👏🌟
And to the manager - if in fact it’s the same person as when I did the review below a couple of years ago, congratulations on paying attention to your patrons and stepping up your game! Well done!!
😊👏
Not cool, on many levels.... Visited this location for supper. Restaurant was pretty empty upon arrival, but we still waited to be greeted and seated.
Our server was a nice girl, but service was exceptionally slow. We ordered pasta dishes, expressly requested pasta al dente. We ordered starter salads.
After a crazy long wait, our pasta dishes came. Unfortunately, our starter salads didn't arrive. Both pasta dishes had mushy noodles - what we had hoped to avoid by requesting al dente. The person who brought the pasta was rude. It wasn't our server. We politely explained that our starter salads - operative word being starter - did not come. She sniped at us that she had just started her shift and it wasn't her fault. Seemed like she felt it was our fault. Weird. So she dropped the plates and basically stormed off, never to be seen again.
I was out of water, and no sign of anyone coming anytime soon, so I asked another server if she would mind - girl with the long skinny braid was FANTASTIC - so friendly and kind and efficient!! Thank you!! And again, our own server was very nice, but she just didn't seem to be able to serve efficiently. She might have been new, so fair enough if that is the case. However, there is no excuse for the older server who sniped at us. None.
It was a disaster and the restaurant was as hot as heck. The table behind us was saying the same thing about too hot and too slow! Not cool. Pardon the pun. We've had a few terrible experiences at this particular location. Patterns tell the story....
Just for the record, we did tip our server well because at least she was very...
Read moreI have almost 20 years in the hospitality industry as a BOH employee. Used to work at a Boston pizza even, so I understand their product and cooking procedures. I waited just over 40 minutes during a slow time, from what I observed their was only 3 tables ahead of me. Just to receive the worst pasta dish I ever witnessed and tried.. I strongly believe from my experience that my food was thrown in a microwave to heat up the meat, then mixed the heated meat with penne and sauce and smothered it in chili flakes..I asked for a jambalaya fettuccine made with penne and extra spicy. Not complicated at all...I would've been fine if the meat had any type of sign it was sautéed. Sausage was pale and gross looking, shrimp was rubbery and white. If it was sautéed all the meat would've had some type of colour to it not the sad looking plate of food I received.. even the garlic toast wasn't toasted they grilled it leaving a nasty smoky burnt flavor. Just because I didn't order my pasta baked with cheese they failed to even sautée my food...I literally sat in a restaurant waiting for my wife to finish her food becuase I didnt trust them to remake my food and i also didnt want to wait another 40 minutes for a 5 minute pasta. Had to also wait over 20 minutes for our bill...I'm surprised I even left 60$ on a 50$ bill. wasn't the servers fault I will say, she did well considering she was the only server I could see serving both bar and dining side of the restaurant. Too sum it up I won't ever go out again to dine at a restaurant again. My wife and I rarely have anyone who could watch our kids so this was our first date night in awhile and it was ruined from the start because Boston pizza doesn't care to ensure consistent quality.. it's not like I asked for some crazy special order.. I also don't care about hair in my food so for me to complain and not eat my dinner you really need to mess up my food for me to return it. Kinda wish I took a photo of the sad plate of pasta with the...
Read moreWe arrived for an early dinner, about 5pm. We were seated quickly enough but then we were left to sit there and wonder if they forgot to assign a wait staff to our table. 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 3. It took 14 minutes for a wait staff to come to our table, we ordered veg & dip for the kids and Asiago dip appetizer and drinks to start. The veg/ranch came but not the dip… I asked that the appetizer be sent out as we didn’t want it at the same time as our entrees. When it came it was not like any dip appetizer we’ve ever had… the “bread” was toasted pizza dough covered in pepper and shaker parm. We couldn’t eat the crusty dough because it was so spicy. We asked the wait staff if there was a way we could have the “bread” plain as it was too spicy/peppery for us. The manager came over and declared there was no pepper on the “bread” and she could give us buttered pizza dough to dip and we said “thank you, that would be great.” We order our entrees at this time - the kids were getting “hangry”. I asked that the kids be given theirs before our pizza if it was ready as they were pretty antsy. Our pizza was the new Bourbon chicken pizza, 1 child had ‘bugs n cheese’ and the other chicken strips and mashed. Our review of the pizza was not great, I gave it a FAIR and my partner gave it a GOOD. Quite dry, no cheese on hit at all, which was unexpected but upon review of menu it didn’t mention cheese would be on it. The kids enjoyed their meals! The sweet potato fries served with the bugs n cheese was the best - I should have just ordered them. lol! When we were leaving the doors /entrance was almost blocked with people waiting. I could see that there were an about 10 tables empty and clean so I wondered what the line up was for! There were, as usual nowadays, 3 skip/uber drivers waiting at the front also for their orders. I’m in no hurry to go back to this...
