Maglicious — Restaurant in Peterborough

I love chicken shawarma with rice and all of the pickled things etc. Ariyana is my favourite, but due to a mix-up I wasn't able to order it for my birthday last night.. so I decided to try Maglicious instead. I was really craving shawarma!! Something very essential to a good shawarma is the garlic sauce. I like a nice strong garlicky one! I don't know why Maglicious garlic sauce is so weird.. but it was very SWEET. Very very sweet. I did ask for tahini as well, so maybe they were combined?! That's super weird though lol I assumed it would be two separate sauces. I ordered extra garlic sauce on the side (no tahini) and it was very sweet too. So I'm not sure. But it was not garlicky at all! Also.. when you pay $1.89 for feta, you should be able to tell that there is feta included. I'm not even confident they added that to my meal at all lol! The pickles & the pickled beets were really good and strong tasting. But man my craving was not satisfied because I really wanted strong garlic sauce and feta. Ariyana has spoiled me. Nobody else compares. My own homemade is second best and I don't even own a rotisserie/spit thing lol. I will say that it was still a decent meal and they give huge portions! It was a lot of food! And it was not bad, just not the best either. Honestly I probably won't...

The Baklava was my absolute favourite. I've never had Baklava before & it's just CRAZY GOOD. It's so flaky on the outside & when you bite into it, it's a thick bite & I don't even know how to describe the taste. It's just PERFECT.

Also, the best salad I've ever had in my life. The pita croutons are so perfect. I've actually never been served that in a salad before but it works perfectly.

The yellow rice was perfect although I do think if the special chicken was not fried, it actually would taste even better as the perfect Home-Style meal. Ex: Braise, Grill, or Roast.

The name of the restaurant, I really really like. It's simple yet so effective. Adding the two words Magic + Delicious together = Maglicious. So awesome. I also really like the orange theme interior & colour theme. The logo is also so simple & effective. Wonderful design. We stopped to try out this restaurant for lunch and we were thoroughly impressed. We had decided to try out a few different items to see what we would like best. As a whole the portion sizes were very generous especially for the price. But more than that, the quality and the flavour is what really stood out. We couldn’t stop talking about how it was the best grilled chicken we have ever had. So much flavour, the chicken was still juicy and it looked amazing. All of the food we had tried had a fair bit of toppings and sauces. The wraps were huge and full of meat, veggies and sauces. The fried chicken poutine was so incredibly good. A must try. But our shining star was the grilled chicken bowl. The place itself was very welcoming and the staff were all kind and willing to make suggestions.
