Jasmine Thai Cuisine Restaurant (at Charlotte Mews) — Restaurant in Peterborough

The food was incredibly bad, I’m shocked as to how the review here is so high. I’ve had Thai food several times in my life and this was by far the worst. I ordered the basil chicken stir fry and it was a watered down stir fry sauce (tasted like grocery store) and was literally a soup. The vegetables were cut extremely large (like 1/4 of a whole bell pepper chunks) and the meat was super low quality, overcooked and dry and the soup (idk why it was soup) was watery and had no flavour, nor a hint of basil at all. The mango sticky rice used the wrong kind of mango and was very sour, and they included a smallll portion of coconut sauce for topping and a very artificially sweet mango sauce, no nuts either. The Thai iced tea was very sweet and had no condensed milk in it when it’s one of the key ingredients. I’ve never ordered three things and had them all immensely flop and could not finish them as they were that unpalatable. Those three things costed me $40.00 not to mention. We dined in at Jasmine Thai Friday night and what a little gem in the rough. This lovely restaurant is tucked in behind Charlotte Mews and off the beaten path. You wouldn't know it was there. Our server was polite and courteous, our food came out piping hot and delicious!! We started with an easy pick of spring rolls and Crab ragoon. We've had Crab ragoon before and these were by far the best we had and twice the size of other places!! Next we both picked spicy sauce for our mains, I picked chicken and glass noodles with mine and my husband choose seafood and sticky rice with his. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! We ordered lunch delivery to our work and they made a mistake in the order, forgetting to include our soups and spring rolls. When i called to explain, they basically accused me of making a mistake in ordering. It is rare to find that archaic service policy of 'the customer is always wrong' these days, but you can find it here. When they did find out it was their mistake, they offered to send us the rest of our order, but only if we paid for a delivery charge again. Another poor service and business decision to make a customer pay for your mistake. We certainly wont be ordering from there again.
