McThirsty's Pint — Restaurant in Peterborough

I'd give McThirstys 0 stars if I could. As a 40 yr old woman who NEVER goes downtown I am extremely bothered and upset by my experience last night.

After being ID checked, me and my sister and brother in law went to use the bathroom before sitting down and ordering a pitcher.

Bathrooms were full, and as we were waiting, a couple stumbled out of one of the bathrooms. Odd. They allow this?? Is this a coke bar?? Whatever. My sister and brother used the bathroom and we decided to go sit on the other side of the bar. It's looking run down, old and dirty. The bar is dark and doesn't appear to be in order tonight. There was some live music, but it wasn't good or entertaining and he was set up in an odd spot. We sat at a table behind the guy playing his music.

We sat down and my sister went to get us a pitcher at the bar. She quickly came back and let us know she had been asked to leave. SHE DIDNT SPEAK WITH ANYONE AND DIDNT EVEN GET TO ORDER. But it was quite obvious the HIDEOUS girl behind the bar was threatened. The fat, puffy and unobservant door man didn't even really look at my ID, but he sure did stop each of us at the door to look not 4 minutes prior so if we were too intoxicated (we hadn't had a drink yet) he might have caught that and not let us in.

Bottom line is, this place will get the business because they are downtown and a lot of people come from out of town. Sadly this local lifer won't be going back ever again and will in fact tell everyone I know that Spankys actually had a fun crowd, cute bartenders and good music (and way cleaner). I will be enjoying my few and very far between nights...

Place has no clue on customer service. After I leave and pay my over $100 tab would not let me back in to use the washroom even though were still open.

Another time staff member declared me the winner of one of their contests and even made arrangements for me to collect the prize at a later date. Another staff member had declared someone else the winner on the other side. Staff error and when I suggested a head to head where both participants could be seen or two first place prizes, I was asked to leave.

I have paid bills of over $100 many times; after 2nd incident, they have lost a lot of business, mine and many that I share with.

Also lie to people I know about their handling of it. Apparently, there is a second 1st place prize; so why not...
