We stopped in on Saturday afternoon to grab a hot drink and a snack with a group of friends visiting for the weekend. We waited patiently in line as other groups went in and when it was finally our turn everyone was so excited to come in and pick their treats. We were a larger group, but one group that was paying together. As soon as we came in, the lady behind the counter yelled at us “there are way too many of you, you have to leave now”. When i say yelled, I mean in a loud and angry voice. We were shocked, and then flustered and half of our group went outside to wait awkwardly even though we were all going to be paying on one tab. While i appreciate the space is small, nowhere did i see a limit on the number in a party that we were violating. The kitchen was closed for food, so the only way for our party to select baked treats was to come inside. After paying for our drinks, the only topic of conversation was how we were spoken to and it was so embarrassing and upsetting that we decided to support a local spot and were treated to the attitude of the staff. Had we been told that there was a certain number of guests allowed in at once, we were 5 adults and 5 kids in our party, the entire situation could have ended in a much happier tone. I can’t imagine a situation where we will be returning, and it’s so disappointing as we love your location by the water and all your...
Read moreHad a terrible experience with staff service here today. My partner ordered a canned drink which we received at the register, and I ordered a tea and was told that they would bring it to us. Sat outside for over 20 minutes waiting for the tea despite being only one of two groups there. When I went back inside to ask about our order, I was told by the girl working there that she had a few other drinks to make and would be out with mine shortly. Went back outside to wait and watched a table get sat and served their drinks almost immediately. We waited an additional 20 minutes for our order before getting up a second time to find the doors locked and the staff closing! While we all make mistakes and forgetting about an order can happen, I was shocked that my drink was never served after giving the staff a polite reminder. Overall we waited for 40 minutes for a $7 matcha, which was unacceptable. To their credit, I did receive a refund for the tea when I requested one, but it seemed like too little too late. I feel they should have offered to refund our entire order at the bare minimum to compensate for the carelessness. Staff seemed mildly apologetic and confused that I never received the drink. I don’t think I’ll be giving my business to this place again, especially with so many fantastic coffee shops with very caring staff downtown, and I’ll be advising friends to...
Read moreThe location in the new Canoe museum is very nice. Lacks more comfortable seating but to be expected with it being new. Brought my daughter in for a scone and a smoothie. It The scone was extremely gooey and underdone on the inside and salty on the outside - didn’t taste like a scone to me. Also when I was shown the size for a smoothie, she showed me the dine in glass options. I chose a regular size instead of a large, but then because of the wait we had to leave and I asked for them to be in to go cup, which ended up being about half the size of the glass she showed me. No straws were given to us And when I opened our smoothies, they were so full they went all over the table. Wouldn’t have paid that much had I known how small they were. Also, a woman who ordered a smoothie after me got hers a bit before us as well which I thought was sort of weird and it as I said the size was much bigger. Overall, seems nice for the new location but a few kinks need to be worked out. Seeing as they are an established business, I...
