An invite to your favourite burger chain’s newest location – does life get any better than this! 2 weeks ago, I had the opportunity to sample the menu at BBOYZ’s Whitby location (1540 Dundas St E, Whitby, ON). With premium, freshly prepared burgers made from 100% fresh, halal meat and natural ingredients, BBOYZ’s Whitby location offers a truly delicious and high-quality dining experience.

Hoping to try a variety of dishes, I started the meal with 3 flavourful appetizers – the fried chicken tenders, onion rings, and sweet potato fries. The fried chicken tenders were perfectly crispy and tender, the onion rings had a satisfying crunch with just the right amount of seasoning, and the sweet potato fries offered a deliciously sweet contrast to the savory flavors.

However, the true star was the main course – the zesty fried chicken sandwich. A chicken breast portion marinated in a blend of seasoning, fried and covered in BBOYZ's unique spicy sauce, it delivered an explosion of flavors that perfectly balanced heat and tanginess, making each bite incredibly satisfying.

Washed down with a cardamom chai and mango milkshake that perfectly complemented the bold flavors of the meal, the chai offered a warm, aromatic spice that balanced the heat from the fried chicken, while the mango milkshake provided a creamy, refreshing sweetness that cooled things down with every sip.

When B Boyz first opened, everything was excellent - fast service, great burgers, and staff who cared about their customers. I was such a fan that I replaced my usual burger spots with them and even promoted them through word of mouth.

Sadly, the quality and service have gone downhill. Orders are never ready on time, and there’s no sense of respect for regular customers who kept them in business. My kids experienced delays the last two visits, and just yesterday I called at 6:00 pm from downtown Toronto to place an order for pickup at 6:45. Despite the notice, my burgers were not ready, and I was left waiting. On top of that, I gave specific instructions for toppings and those weren’t carried out correctly either.

To make matters worse, the staff member I dealt with was rude, untrained, and showed zero manners. It feels like customer service has been thrown out the window. Is this the result of hiring Gen Z staff who don’t understand that customers are the reason they even have a paycheck? Loyal customers deserve respect, not attitude.

Visited B Boyz Pickering and overall, it was a satisfying experience. I would give them 4 stars for their delicious burgers, with a special shoutout to their zesty fried chicken which was truly a standout. The burst of flavors in the zesty fried chicken was a treat for the taste buds.

However, I was slightly disappointed by the cheesy chicken option. It lacked the expected flavor and left me wanting more. On the positive side, the staff were quite polite and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

One area that could use improvement is the waiting time. It took nearly 30 minutes for our burgers to be prepared, which felt a bit too long for a fast-food joint. The interiors are simple, with just a few tables, and the place primarily caters to takeaways.

On a brighter note, the fact that B Boyz Pickering offers halal options is a significant plus, catering to a diverse range of customers. Despite a few shortcomings, the highlight remains the amazing zesty fried chicken. If they can work on refining their other options and speed up the service, this place could easily become a top-notch...
